Not many in for Sunday lunch. No wonder, the food looked very bland and was tasteless. I had the beef. It was hot, not much on the plate and overpriced. Either do it properly and fill the place or don't bother, Not good for Sunday lunch. 😞

Ive seen some awful reviews on the hotel but i can not judge that, me and some friends come for lunch quite regularly. The specials change every week! They are cooked with such care the chef is amazing every single plate is served with love. The staff are so friendly, we normally visit on a weekend and its always the...

I remembered seeing the Saracens Head on one of those horrid "Hotel Nightmares" kind of programs a few years ago, it was a dismal horrific hovel that need burning down rather than saving but saved it was....... unfortunately. I was intrigued to see the transformation so popped into the bar to have a nice drink before we went on to...

Generally, not very nice. Visited with friends only to be refused entry without full explanation despite the fact that populous inside were fairly insidious also. Poor female doorstaff. Avoid. I will not visit here again

I know they say you get what you pay for but this takes it to a whole other level !!! It can still be basic but it should be clean 😡😡😡😡Curtains hanging off the wall nets have a huge hole in them. Roller bling black with Mould, carpets filthy, general cleanliness is awful. General dirty smell about the place. If...

Downstairs bar area looks nice although wasn't serving food on a Tuesday night. Rooms are very dated and sparsely furnished. No double glazing so lots of street noise. Very dubious damp patch on the carpet near the window in room 2, I unwittingly stood in it. I dread to think what it is. PARKING-what a nightmare. I stay in many...

Visited for lunch with my partner & step daughter, ordered our food & when it was brought to our table my partners food was wrong, he ordered a steak sandwich & was given a steak, which was twice the price !! when he said to Darren the waiter it was wrong, he just shrugged his shoulders & said you ordered...

Front of house staff very attentive and welcoming, totally let down by the kitchen staff's lack of time keeping! Certainly not front of house staff's fault! Be prepared for a long wait! Food when arrived was good as per menu stated, nothing exceptional.

From their website you would think this was a reasonable hotel at a good price in a good location. It isn't. Please read all the bad reviews. They are true. I hardly ever give bad reviews but this place deserves one. I stayed for one night. The room was dirty and furniture chipped. The fan was full of dust and...

After wandering about Chelmsford on a busy Sunday we fancied a drink and something to eat - the Saracens Head was the only pub/bar we could find (not being familiar with the town). The interior is dark and dingy with the inevitable TV screens all over the place showing football - some having seen better days. The menu was a...
