I like Hartfield, a quintessentially quiet, even sleepy Kent village and all the better for it. Thus the perfect location for this very old pub, it must have at some time been a coaching inn. full of rustic charm and character, right in the middle of the village and opposite the cricket pitch. A friendly welcome awaits as does a...

A proper old fashioned country pub with an excellent pint of Harveys Best among others. Good beer garden and a darts room. Comfortable rooms and a good quality breakfast. Have stayed before, will do so again! Recommended!

Abridged: Lovely pub/building and take dogs. Warts N All: Will keep this brief as we probably didn't do this place justice. The bar area very nice and homely. Beer great. The fact you can take the dog is always a plus. The food was really quite average if not actually below par. But we did only have their light bites...

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time out to give us a review. I'd like to address your points one by one. You're right, we do have a new till system that we're all getting used to at the moment. We also had a new member of staff start on Friday - it was her second shift on Sunday and...

The ideal combination - a pub with great character, good food and really comfortable bedrooms. Everyone was really friendly and we felt very welome. Our thanks to James and all his team for a great weekend.

A clean attractive room with a comfortable bed, en suite facilities and very friendly service. The breakfast was full English if required with lighter options available. This Inn is quiet and serves good pub food in a pleasant environment. There is also a lovely garden at the back.

We have been going to The Anchor for a decade now and it just gets better and better. We stayed - for the first time - last night and were delighted with great rooms, that are really good value. Two adults and two kids eat lunch, dinner and breakfast and so we think we are well-qualified to pass judgement -...

My wife and I were following the "pooh trail" when we were fortunate enough to come across this absolute gem! The food was absolutely fantastic and great value for money. It was so good that my wife who has always hated black pudding is now a convert after sampling mine! Highly recommended.

We had a lovely evening at the Anchor last night. James and his team looked after us so well last night for a suprise birthday party. The food was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't stay, but the rooms look lovely, modern and clean (I would love to stay if I lived further away). We will...

Wish it was our local. We are an hour away. Great food. Great staff. So nice to have food in a proper pub. Not conveyer belt. With a proper chef who knows his trade. Staff have brilliant attitude and pkenty of local knowledge.

We had lunch at the Anchor. All five of us had different meals and each one was excellent. We've eaten here once before and the food was also fantastic. We've really struggled to find consistently good food in the area but the Anchor has delivered. It's an old village pub with loads of period charm (no Pub Co nonsense) and...
