The Blyth Hotel once fully refurbished will be an amazing place to stay. It's a period property which I love , we stayed in the Southwold Suite which is huge . The plumbing is a little to be desired and the windows should be double glazed but the present owners are still in the process I stated doing it up....

We stayed at the Blyth for three nights in March. Good location only a few minutes walk from the pier or the town centre. Friendly staff and although the car park is small there is plenty of off-street parking. The breakfasts were very good with an extensive menu, however for us the 8.30 start was too late as, being birdwatchers,...

The first thing to be said is that the Blyth Hotel website admits the building needs to be upgraded - and I can confirm that the wallpaper is sagging from the walls at the top of the house, and that ceilings are cracked. However, the dirt around the lower tiling of the shower shouldn't fall into this category. That said,...

We stayed at The Blyth for our minimoon this weekend. The location is excellent, only a few minutes to the high street and less than 10mins to the beach. The car park is a touch on the small side, we didn't move the car all weekend so as to not lose the parking space, not that we really needed the...

Location is good at the edge of town. Good that car parking is available. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Nothing really wrong with the room, except it was rather hot, the paintwork and furniture need an uplift, and getting a hot shower required a lot of patience and a degree in bathroom management! (Why do all showers have to...

Stayed here for a weekend, the hotel is on the edge of Southwold, less than 5 min walk into town and a good 5 min walk to the pier. The hotel has bags of potential and looks like the new owners are in the process of updating it. The room was quiet and on the large size, although the decor...

Not very many hotels are dog-friendly and to find a hotel to accommodate ours and have a lovely stay as well was really good value for money. Location is ideal to walk into town, beach and wander into Southwold. Our room was at the top of the building (no lift) and though I moaned at first, after the 2nd day...

Called in on our walk back to our B&S in Reydon after our distillery tour, a mix of the towns pubs and a large meal for a nightcap. Its on the edge of town, the bar and restaurant have plenty of space, staff very friendly, nice ambience. We visit Southwold once a year, and next time we will book a...

Lovely place, lovely town. The Blyth is lovely for the personal approach and warm friendly staff but the exceptional thing is the chef. My wife is a fussy sod in restaurants but this chef just loved the challenge of making her happy. Well done, fabulous.

First impressions when we drove in,a very tired looking building in need of TLC.we had booked a Superior king ,and what a let down ,it had obviously had a lick of paint over wallpaper ,the windows let in draughts a very small TV all in all certainly not in my book a superior King. Also the lock on the door needs...
