A pleasant grade II listed building dating from the 18th century with a few additions and modifications along the way resulting in a higgledy-piggledy layout of corridoors and rooms but nothing old about the facilities and service. An Adnams hotel conveniently located in the high street close to just about everything Southwold has to offer. It worked for us. Staff...

We have been visiting the Crown for many years and had many very enjoyable times there. On our recent visit for supper the meal was very poor the food was under-seasoned, my dessert lemon sponge was very heavy not like any sponge I have ever had, I suggested the chef should taste it. On our departure I noticed it was...

Stayed here for a night in January to meet up with some family. And whilst the room was really clean and spacious, we only manged to sleep for a couple of hours due to the noise from the downstairs restaurant and bar, not very relaxing at all unfortunately!

We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast basis and on arriving we were informed we'd been upgraded to a superior suite (result!!) the room was quite superb with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Our evening meal was a culinary delight both of us having a goats cheese on bruschetta with pickled pear and salad...

Went to the Crown for a couple of nights relaxation between Christmas and new year. On the plus side the room was good, clean and well equipped, and the staff throughout were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good. However, though good, dinner was over priced for the type of restaurant at the Crown. But our main gripe was that...

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We're all delighted you enjoyed the room. We are a very small hotel and as such are unable to provide a dedicated room as a residents lounge. However all Crown residents are welcome to use the facilities at our sister hotel The Swan, a short walk away.

The staff made our stay at the Crown extremely enjoyable. The receptionist was especially helpful as was our evening waitress. The hotel was clean, notably the bedroom which was warm and welcoming with a well stocked tea and coffee tray. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice to be asked if we wanted more toast, tea etc.

Southwold has become uber trendy in recent years – appearing as part of glossy features in national newspapers and magazines, in TV documentaries and being named as a ‘favourite place’ by countless so-called celebs. There’s no doubting its charm and appeal but given that I’ve been visiting for well over 20 years at least I can’t be accused of jumping...

Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Welcoming, attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. We had the opportunity of trying 2 rooms and would recommend Room 11 which is comfortable, well appointed and has a walk in shower. Room 14 (pictured ) is lovely but slightly inconvenient as the bathroom is on the same landing down a few steps. There...

We stayed here for two nights after walking out of a B&B in nearby Wangford, and what an improvement! Lovely clean well decorated room, well cooked breakfast, a nice covered stables to keep the car warm and dry. Staff were friendly and helpful. In essence a nice place to stay at what is a reasonable price (use Laterooms etc) we'll...

Fun hotel. Not the ordinary. Make sure you meet Steven the general manager... Kind, gentle, thoughtful. Even went out front to make sure my husband wouldn't miss the car park. Like I said... It's the place to stay for just some good old fashioned sweetness.
