Perfect for those wanting to stay in a hotel befitting of the surroundings. Basecamp is really cosy and characterful with under floor heating, walls decorated with seal skins and driftwood and rooms without TVs or phones making it feel as if your staying in a real trappers cabin. Comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water, although the beds...

We stayed at Basecamp Hotel from 30th January to 3rd February. It was a bucket list trip for my 78 year old mother. I must admit I was quite nervous about taking my mother somewhere so extreme but the minute we set foot in Basecamp, my fears disappeared. I cannot praise the hotel and it's wonderful staff enough. The atmosphere...

On our first visit to Svalbard and Longyearbyen, we didn't really know what to expect...apart from the cold! We certainly weren't expecting the levels of hospitality and friendliness we experienced in Longyearbyen, from the Flybuss to the hotel, to the restaurants, to the tours. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say we were warmly welcomed to...

We stayed at Basecamp for 5 nights with our 3 children ages 15,12 and 10 years. The hotel lived up to all expectations-and our family room really was perfect for our stay. The staff were really relaxed, friendly and sorted lots of trips for us.....we would LOVE to return sometime soon and really couldn't recommend Basecamp enough. Best place to stay...

What a great stay. We arrived in snow but over the next few days perfect weather with the lights going day and night. Basecamp was a unique place to stay situated in the heart of the town with unique trapper decor. The were great at arranging outings and suggested events in town that were on that weekend . The rooms...

This hotel exceeded my expectations in all aspects. It has a very special, cosy vibe and the room is like a wooden log cabin which is unique yet comfortable. What made my stay with my 3 other Singapore friends more memorable was the excellent staff in this hotel. Special compliments to Heidi who was truly a remarkable staff who went...

The hotel is situated in a good location close to the shops, eating and drinking options and the supermarket. The museum is a 700 metre walk through town. The airport bus 75 NOK pp one way or 120 NOK pp return drops off and picks up from the front door. The hotel also has a great restaurant (Kroa) attached. The...

This isn't your run of the mill regular hotel. Its got character and feel of the days of yore when everything wasn't perfectly 'manicured'. As soon as you enter you feel transported back in time, you actually feel you are far away from civilization.... It's got all the amenities of modern living and rooms & toilets are comfortable but small...

Basecamp Hotel is situated right at the heart of Longyearbyen, among restaurants, pubs, shops and bank.
