Hotel staff very nice and helpfull, great breakfast, nice and characteristic room (the new plastic electrical tubes should be masket better and the outside ventilator is...

Very nice surprise considering that we are so far away from so called civilised world. The interiors are in wooden, very nicely designed. We really liked the room. The breakfast was ok. Really enjoyed the staying

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel. We had a warm welcome and got some information about the settlement. We booked our acitivities with the hotel and they were always ready to inform us. One of our activities has been cancelled because of the bad weather and they looked for an alternative. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The...

We spent several days and the room, the common areas and the service was just perfect. They know what guests need and they make sure they get the most out of their trip. The food is also very nice and as a plus the hotel is connected with a restaurant so you do not need to get out in the...

Stayed here overnight on the way to an expedition, good clean rooms, nice shower and good breakfast! Employees were helpful and had good information when requested. THe hotel has a load of memorablia from Svalbard and from Kenya where they have a sister hotel. Interesting fact was that the room charge that you pay goes to helping them plant a...

Perfect for those wanting to stay in a hotel befitting of the surroundings. Basecamp is really cosy and characterful with under floor heating, walls decorated with seal skins and driftwood and rooms without TVs or phones making it feel as if your staying in a real trappers cabin. Comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water, although the beds...

We stayed at Basecamp Hotel from 30th January to 3rd February. It was a bucket list trip for my 78 year old mother. I must admit I was quite nervous about taking my mother somewhere so extreme but the minute we set foot in Basecamp, my fears disappeared. I cannot praise the hotel and it's wonderful staff enough. The atmosphere...

On our first visit to Svalbard and Longyearbyen, we didn't really know what to expect...apart from the cold! We certainly weren't expecting the levels of hospitality and friendliness we experienced in Longyearbyen, from the Flybuss to the hotel, to the restaurants, to the tours. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say we were warmly welcomed to...

What a great stay. We arrived in snow but over the next few days perfect weather with the lights going day and night. Basecamp was a unique place to stay situated in the heart of the town with unique trapper decor. The were great at arranging outings and suggested events in town that were on that weekend . The rooms...
