I've been here 4 nights ( 20/24 july/2016). Position: about 300 mt distance from the center. Rooms: clean, comfortable bed. Point of weakness: bathroom: very very small, we did not have the towels changed for 4 days straight. But you could expect it ( maybe not in a Hotel) Starting 23th, lunch time, hot water went off, we had to...

Clean and tidy room but very basic. No WiFi and TV in the room. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was also basic but nothing to complain about. Value for the money? Questionable...

The hotel is made to look a bit rough, but have the basic comforts that is demanded. It is quit cosy and homey. You can if you like cook ur own food e.g. Breakfast is really good, the restaurant greenhouse like room very nice. Dinner was a bit more shaky, but still acceptable.

The rooms where small och meagre. The atmosphere friendly. Breakfast was descent and the staff helpful. The winter garden / restaurant has good food and excellent service. The establishment is located out of the village but remember the village is 200 meter long and the distance to down town is 300 meters. Middle class price considering the prices in Norway...

Great location. Great decor. Great feel to the place. Fantastic restaurant inside. Downsides, expensive and breakfast not included. Pay extra each day to use the self service kitchen (for the rates, this should absolutely be free!). Needs black out curtains in the rooms! Everyone was saying it. Needs better wifi throughout the hotel, not just very unreliable wifi in the...

OK room - shared bathroom worked fine because there is several of them. Nice hotel with caracter and lots of space so you don't have to stay in your room. Restaurant with lokal food. A special place to stay in

Honestly, it is a quirky but homey place that's more like a B&B than a hotel. The rooms are clean and work but the service is spotty at best, and it is overpriced for what it is - a modest B&B. However, my biggest issue is that they don't have blackout curtains and that is key in the sunny months...

This was one of three hotels we stayed in during our time in Svalbard and sadly it was the most expensive and the least acceptable. We stayed in the Hunter's Cabin which I imagined to be one of the better and hence more expensive rooms. However, the room contained only a rough made bunk bed with head clearance on the...

REVIEW FOR THE RESTAURANT ONLY: One local described this place to me as 'very Svalbard, just sort of randomly thrown together but it really works, and Mary-Ann has put her heart into it' - and it shows. A beautiful conservatory restaurant where I was welcomed for an evening meal. The menu is simple, but full of flavour and clearly cooked...

This establishment has something very special which is hard to describe. It fits perfectly well within the general Longyearbyen setting. As from its very first view it emits a special sense of cosiness. First thing that strikes you when opening the front door is the warmth (almost heat) that hits you in the face. The contrast with outside temperature is...
