I chose this hotel for my holiday based upon other reviews and it didn't dissappoint me! Melpo is nicely designed, the rooms are very cozy and clean and the staff is very friendly. I went for my holiday alone but the owner of this place, Manos, made me feel at home. Thanks to him I got a lot of hints when it comes to visiting the nicest places in the area. Manos and the bar tender Michalis attract good people to this place so if you're looking for good company, interesting conversations and a lot of fun do not hesitate to stay at the bar in the evening hours. The hotel is located in the centre of the town, near the beach, restaurants and shops so it may be quite busy there sometimes, but I had no problem to sleep... The swimming pool may not be a big one, but it is a nice oasis to rest at after a long day. If you're looking for a good experience and not only a place to sleep, I can recommend this hotel with all my heart.…
It wasn't my first time in melpo. To be honest it's 10 years I am going there. Why this? Not because of the Rooms that are maybe a bit smaller than we're usually used to have today. But hey you're on holidays for the place and not the room, also the bathroom is not pretty big and modern like somewhere else. It's the Atmosphere you get there that I like most! As soon you enter the lobby you get a warm welcome from Manos at the reception, he helps you also with all your little questions and problems you will have during your stay. During the day you can go at the Pool and meet many people from different countries and enjoy the daytime. In the evening you can go to Mike at the bar who will treat you like a person of his own family! So all in all the hotel is not the newest and the rooms are not the biggest, but the staff there, from the reception, to the bar till to the cleaning lady's is for sure one of the best in the whole island. So if you're searching a place you can fell like home then Melpo should be your first choice. …
HotelMelpo...hmmm.I have no bad words to describe the hotel. We had everything we need in our stay,in July but the real brand, the trademark of the place is Mr.PetrakisManos-THE MANAGER.A very pleasant and kind man.We salute him, from Romania. The rooms have everything you need for the money you pay.We had a pool in the backyard and breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean but, what do i say all that stuff?!Read the people reviews...they say a lot.It all resumes to THE MANAGER...HE IS MAKING THAT PLACE -EVERYTHING YOU NEED You have to meet the bartender too...GREETINGS FROM ROMANIA. We miss Crete and we will return at the same hotel, next year or when we will have another vacation in the summer. MelpoHotel-We miss it:(
Good service from administrator Mike who take care about each guest in Melpo hotel. There are own garden, swimming pool and bar inside the Hotel. Beach, restaurants and supermarket are also near. Advice you this place for vacation! Room is pretty simply, extra payment for air-conditioner, and there is not a blanket, only thin sheet for your sleeping. Although it’s a warm outside and inside. Anyway, you can ask anything that you need and manager try to help u, as always as possible.
Hotel: Located in the central street, bed and breakfast, Mr. Manos is an administrator and host in one person, so all the issues can be solved quickly and safely. If the city noise is disturbed, ask the room overlooking the pool, but if your neighbors everyday bla bla on the phone on the balcony, it will not be easy :) my room went out to the main street and because of this I did not hear about my neighbors saying every night from 22:00 to ... it happened differently. Personally, I do not think it makes sense to comment, if people neglect those around them, they will not do anything, and conflicts do not solve the problem. Continental breakfasts are fairly standard for all countries where I was: corn flakes, muesli, Greek yoghurt (in a combination it is very good), honey, jams, canned peaches or apricots (not sure), milk, juice, coffee, tea, bread (you can make toasts), margarine, muffin, cheese, beef, corded cucumbers and tomatoes, boiled eggs. All of these care about two beautiful girls, which then then cleaned up in your rooms, and all do with love, so do not skimp on the tip. In the lobby there is a friendly bartender give drinks according to your taste (it’s extra pay). The kitchen in Greece is incredibly tasty, and it does not matter where to eat in a small cafe, where for 4 € you will bring a plate with a burger, potatoes, vegetables and freshly soured pita, or a restaurant for a 8.50 € risotto. For dinner, we went to Glaros Beach Hotel (because there is no kitchen in our hotel), it is very difficult to restrain itself, but everything is so tasty, especially when you see an ice cream fridge. Beaches are all paid, usually from hotels and restaurants, a set of 2 sun loungers and umbrellas, costs 10 euros, so we went to the new every day. The coastline in Chersonissos is narrow. On the first day we went to the Star Beach Hotel (about 20 minutes walking) and it's for nothing, except to make photos, because there is a very beautiful area. Also, they went to the beach in Malia (located outside the city), a ticket for one costs 1.80 €, a set (2 sun loungers and umbrellas) 7 euros. I like it a wide coastline, spacious deck chairs, whipped water, and everything would be perfect, if not drywall. Also a lovely and comfortable beaches in the Anapils but we did not get there, but we ran on Happy Train, a fun trip to try, it costs 13 €. At the end of the rainbow I want to note a couple of observations that surprised me, the first is the tax paid by the tourist upon arrival (I paid 4,5 € for 10 days), the second - drinks are not included in half board (this is additionally paid), the third, walking around the waterfront you you can go to any hotel and go to the bathroom. in a word, I'm delighted at from Hersonissos :)…
Booked our first holiday without the kids here at Melpo. The price of the rooms with breakfast was very reasonable. The rooms were very clean, air conditioned and serviced daily. Manos was very helpful prior to and during our stay. All of the staff were cheerful and there was a very laid back atmosphere. Prior to arriving we requested a rom that overlooked the main street so that we could people watch. It was noisy if you had the doors open onto the balcony but you could watch the busy town open and close each day. We could see that shop keepers and food establishments opposite took a real pride in making sure their Premesis were immaculately clean. We will be visiting here again. Maybe the kids will come too as there is so much to see and do! Melpo highly recommended!
The hotel category is 2 star hotel, but Manos, staff and quite clean environment makes your stay feel like being in higher category hotel. Manos is trademark of this hotel, and is willing to provide every help you need. We'll come back here again.
