We had a fabulous holiday at the KMP in July this year! Our room was a really good size, as was the balcony (with sea view) and although the bathroom was very dated (as per other reviews) everything was always very clean. The public rooms were very comfortably furnished - great pool too with plenty of sun beds. The restaurant was large and airy with a very wide range of dishes, all carefully labelled (vegan, contains alcohol etc). The pool bar also carried a good range of food which we felt was reasonably priced. The staff were all (well almost all, but we grew to love her too…) very friendly, but special mention must go to our waiter Giorgios, who was a master of his craft. What a warm, friendly and kind person he was, with a great sense of humour too. If anyone ever needed to see what the highest level of service looks like they’d only need to spend an hour with him. Alex (who we think was learning from him) is very lucky to have such a teacher. Thank you all for making it such a perfect holiday!

We visited Crete on september the 5th until the 15th and in that time we stayed at King Minos Palace. Our luggage was taken to our rooms, which we thought was a great service! That was also the case with the rest of the hotel staff: very friendly and helpful! We had a great time with our waiter. Manolis "the Magician" we called him, as he pulled off some good magic tricks, haha. Also the facilities of the hotel were great: The shows every 3 evenings, the pool ( a bit disappointing it was only open until 6pm) and the massage you can book via the reception (It's something that we really recommend!) If there's one thing to complain about, it's the rooms: They don't contain WiFi and look pretty outdated for a 4* hotel. We only used it for sleeping, so it wasn't much of a problem to us, but I can understand that some people would like to have internet in their rooms. On the other hand, it forces you to do other creative things in the evening, like going for a drink or to explore Hersonissos, which surely isn't a bad idea on your vacation. All in all we had a wonderful stay. Thank you! Mathijs and Juul

Had a great time at the king minos palace. There was 10 of us and we arrived late check in was easy had cases brought up the front stairsand then on to our accommodation wich were bunglows in the grounds down a lot of stairs. Was offered a cold meal or a voucher to use at the pool bar one lunch time. 73 steps up to the restaurant and a few more to reception and the pool kept us fit and could find no fault with the food and the service in either the restaurant or the pool bar thanks to Eva George and Alexandro and all the other staff who were a credit to the hotel so dont believe what you read and decide fo yourself. The hotel is a bit dated in placesbut is supposed to be having a refurb for next year 1 or 2 down sides. No kettles in rooms and no were to dry your towels and swimwear as patio was open could do with little airing rails on the side wall. The pool was fab lots of longers and space . The underpass to the beach was low but short and was fine if you were under 5f 4 .was a bit of a walk to the center of town ok going down the small steep hill from the front of the hotel we got taxis back at night.

I'm returning home tomorrow after a week's stay in this beautifully clean hotel. It's well located for access to the beach and also supermarkets, tavernas and souvenir shops. The Spar Hypermarket, a 5 minute walk at most, has an excellent range of products. I even managed to buy a travel kettle to replace the new one I brought with me which blew a fuse and killed the power to my room late on my first night! The hotel is dated but I understand refurbishment is due before next season. The food is okay; as a vegetarian I enjoyed the range of salads and always managed to find something suitable for my main course. However, I like my food hot, not tepid. The staff are obliging but some can be officious although I ascribe this to them controlling their territory (eg in the restaurant). I've enjoyed my week but am unlikely to return.

We spent 2 glorious weeks here, cleanliness was impeccable, beautiful pool, peaceful with plenty of sunbeds, buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of choice and was always varied, entertainment was a bit lacking in the 2 weeks we were there unfortunately. Hersonissos centre a 15 min enjoyable walk away and 5 min walk to the nearest beach via underpass, a big shout out to manolis and George who couldn't do enough for us and made our holiday a pleasure. Rooms are a bit dated but the hotel is being renovated for next season and upgrades look amazing, we will definitely return, thank you king minos for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Lovely stay however unsure whether it deserves the 4 star rating. Location: perfect for us as it was set back from the hussle and bustle of busy Heronissos. Only a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. Some people say it’s a harsh trek to the beach due to incline. I found it ok and I’m not the fittest person in the world. The hotel has a lot of stairs, some without lift access which is something to be aware of. Other hotels on the beach had pool side near the beach did not look relaxing due to the number of people walking along the beach to bars/restaurants. Also noisy from bars/restaurants/ people etc. pool was a good size and relaxing and quiet environment as was away from the beach. Access to sun beds could be tricky in height of season however we managed to find one each time. The hotel surroundings was lovely and cannot fault cleanliness. No indoor pool (however I imagine this could be usual In Greece) Hotel room: this was not what I would say 4 star standard. Very basic. Mini bar fridge however not filled with content. Basic shower. No tea and coffee facilities (which is fair enough as not usually thing for all European hotels). The hotel room was very dated with dated decor. The bed was not very comfortable and I ended up with a achey back at times. No Wi-Fi in bedrooms is not great for a 4* hotel. Food: again, not great for a 4* hotel. Was just OK. Food was often luke warm - possibly not Kept heated from being on a buffet. The facilities in the restaurant was basic for a 4* hotel and only a small selection of drinks available. No indoor bar, only outside pool bar. The entertainment at night wasn’t great and not on every night. Again, not 4* standard. Staff: few individual staff in restaurant (apart from Athena) who appeared unfriendly and stand off ish. The reception and housekeeping staff was lovely. (We booked as a package holiday with TUI. I was very disappointed TUI did not have representation at the hotel - with a welcome chat. Advice and support with information on excursions etc. was just a sign to use the chat option in the app. However obviously not the fault of the hotel)

This hotel has great views down to the sea from the restaurant and some of the rooms and mountain views from the poolside. It’s a little dated decor wise but very well managed and clean. The food was varied and good quality with plenty of choice and great staff in the restaurant particularly Athina. It’s a large pool with plenty of room for those who like swimming and no shortage of sun beds!

This was our third visit to the King Minos and the first since the new management had taken over. I must say some of the reviews on here of negative thought are so judgmental and undermining of the Greek hospitality and something I just can’t get my head around, it’s as if these people visited a different King Minos palace completely or they just adopt the complain to gain culture looking for next years accommodation voucher. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING And enjoyed by all the family yet again including my in laws who joined us on this occasion for the first time. From check in to check out, we had two weeks of excellent service from reception, pool bar, restaurant and house keeping. A huge thank you as always to the magnificent Manoli, George and Athena who we had previously met but also to the members of the King Minos team we met for the first time on this trip including Eya, Kristalia and the restaurant/ bar manager (sorry name escapes me) who all adopt the same fantastic friendly atmosphere to ensure you feel at home. I understand that the rooms may be a little dated but the nobody could ever complain about how clean the place is and always has been. If you are travelling this year the slightly dated will only affect you as this magnificent is going through a refurbishment at the end of season which will bring it to a five star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating. With the excellent staff and the upgrades planned, I for one can’t wait to get booked to go back again next year and I am sure anybody looking at this hotel for next year, also Will not be disappointed. Please disregard a great deal of the bad reviews on here. I never once seen anybody wait for 20 - 60 mins for a drink and I certainly didn’t see any rude members of staff waving bits of paper round telling people they can’t do this and they can’t do that. To the management, Thank you and keep going doing what your doing. Clearly you have a vision and goal with this hotel and I for one will return for my annual trip next year to see all the plans you have put into action. Congratulations and thank you again.

Where do I start? ... a lovely team of staff and management and superbly run hotel. My partner had a leg injury which got worse during our stay, sustained in the U.K., and they really looked after us. The hotel manager and staff kept making sure we were ok. Pool was lovely, food was great, room was great...and a special shout out to Stefan for keeping us smiling!

I want to start by saying that this hotel is not 4 stars. Let's say that it would manage to reach 3, if the staff in the dining room had a little more manners. From the first half hour at this hotel, I was badly impressed. We arrived at the hotel at 9 o'clock in the morning, we were told at the reception that the room will be ready in 30 minutes until then we can serve breakfast, but we have to pay for it because the breakfast of that day is not included in our package. I understood perfectly no problem. After we sat down at the table, we were disturbed 3 times, first by the waiter, then by the head of the lunch room who came with lists to ask us who we were, what we were doing there and we have to pay for the food... honestly after 24 hours on the road with a 3-year-old child, I did not need such behavior. Also, we could not sit at the table we wanted. When we arrived in the dining room, we were directed like sheep to which tables the waiters wanted, although other tables were free. This happened at every meal for the duration of the our stay. Moreover, one of the waiters raised his voice at my husband when he asked him nicely to bring us a bottle of water because the only liquids we didn't have to pay for were available in the morning, otherwise you had to pay for any glass of water. I understood that too, but I can't understand the attitude. We can overlook the old furniture, the sewer and musty smell in the rooms, but we cannot overlook the lack of decency in people.
