We visited Chibo in the month of January 2016 with 2 small children in our group, both aged 3+yrs. We ere apprehensive of the weather and the facilities available there. We also heard that there may be water and electricity crisis there. But Chibo Inn came as a big surprise to us.The cleanliness maintained in every nook and corner of the hotel will astonish you. Most of the rooms are well lit and the staff are very friendly. The food is always served hot and we never had any problem of electricity and water. We stayed there for 3 days. The kids got ample space to play as there is a well maintained garden area. There is a space of barbecue as well. The view of Kanchanjangha from the roof top is mesmerizing.... We thoroughly enjoyed our trip....

More like a homestay than a hotel, we spent 4 days at Chibo and it was a highlight of our trip.
The home itself is gorgeous. Sitting halfway up a rolling Himalayan foothill, it's surrounded by grounds where fresh vegetables are grown and there is even a small private nursery with very pretty flowers. The views of the valley below are stunning and even though it was too cloudy for us to get the full mountain views, we were still spoiled.
From the inn you can do lovely small hikes to gorgeous little villages which are dotted around the hill and even to a Buddhist monastery (though watch out for the big army base on the way as we got caught in it and confronted by an armed guard!)
The family which run the inn are so very friendly. Great chicken curries cooked up in the kitchen by smiling ladies, polite and friendly children running about whom we taught to play snap! They really took care of us and when Emily got ill, they were very concerned and sorted out a trip to the local doctor. They couldn't have made us feel more welcome.
All in all, a very peaceful stay and if you want to avoid the relative stress of staying in Darjeeling or even Kalimpong, this is the place to do it. Very highly recommended!

Nice views, family run property.. Lots of open space to enjoy the stay..the solitude is the best part if this place apart of magnificent views.Due to untimely clouds we cudnt catch the distant view of Kanchenjunga but those who are lucky can get the views of far off lying mountain peak. The owners run the property, its clean ,friendly and well maintained. The pickup was arranged and we did not have trouble arriving at the property as we had called and coordinated before hand. Its advisable to reach before the night creeps in as the terrain is hilly and approach road is bumpy and also cos you don't wanna miss the views . treks around the place is not to be missed if you love being with nature and the lovely fragrance of rice farm in air. Only flip side of the stay was the limited menu and same preparations of the dishes, and a delay in services, maybe because it is home run and the property is short of hands.
Tip to management: as a homestay the place is perfect if u can up the service a little bit and introduce a little bit of variety in the preparation of dishes .with your expansion plans ,if you are intending to make a hotel out of the home stay then faster service would something that would need looking at.
Overall a nice place to enjoy an offbeat holiday .

Located on a ridge just 4 kms from Kalimpong, offering spectacular views of the Mt. Kanchenjungha and the surrounding Dhupi forests and foothills. The chirping birds, colourful flowers, lots of greeneries and all and above all - the tranquillity of this place surely attract many nature lovers.
Rooms are clean, well furnished with almost all modern facilities with a clear view of Mt. Kanchenjungha. Rooms of first floor are better than those of ground floor. Foods served are good enough. Milan Bhattari (9434117680) and Sagar Bhattari (9635130221) run this property with utmost care for guests.
It is always a good idea to stay at the outskirt of Kalimpong and enjoy local sight-seeing. Bird-watching, Short trek, Village walk are the other attractions of this place. I visited this place with friends and enjoyed to our satisfaction and love to come again for birding and village walk.

I booked this hotel for my family from January 17 to January 30, 2018. The hotel asked me to pay the full amount in advance. I hesitated and asked them whether I can pay 50% in advance the rest on arrival. They insisted me to pay 60% and I paid the amount. But due to some familial issue, I had to cancel the trip and asked them to cancel the booking on January 10, 2018. They simply said that they cannot give me the money back. I asked them to send me the cancellation policy since it is neither in their website, nor in the mail they sent. They asked me to wait. I waited for an entire week. They have not sent me anything yet even after multiple reminders. Now I am really scared that they will not refund the money. I did not want the entire amount, but I could at least have some of it after deducting the cancellation charge. They didn't even bother.

I booked two triple bed rooms in March and I checked in here yesterday afternoon. The two rooms they provided are much below expectation. I got room no 2, where the toilet is a make shift one. A tall person can hardly stand and take a bath. Food is ok type. But the hospitality is very good. Before booking do not forget to ask the room type, because when i wanted to change my room today morning, they say it is not possible because of higher tariff. Also it is pretty hot here.
