We went during covid and were travelling with elderly parents as well as a kid so we chose this place and we were not disappointed... the premises was very very clean and the room cleaning personnel kept note of even the smallest details.. Swaraj at the front desk was always very friendly and helped us whenever we reached out to him... The only point of suggestion- the buffet breakfast spread was great but few dishes like dosa/ sambar and poha etc particularly the indian breakfast section the taste wasn't authentic... could improve They used plastic bottles in the rooms... everyday so many plastic garbage is generated which is not good for the environment.. All the facilities were spot on clean at all times... We took the newly built Kanchenjunga view rooms but since it was rainy we dint get the view.. Due to cold weather could not used the pool.. They had a nice indoor kids play area...which was in manned... Just a suggestion they could turn into a sort of crèche we're parents can sign and leave the small kids to play and can have some free time off parenting to enjoy the other hotel services like spa or take a relaxing soak in the bathtub .. the bathrooms were really amazing... Hotel was really amazing .. we had a great stay... one should plan a stay after checking the weather forecast if ur paying a premium for the Kanchenjunga view rooms... but again u can never really predict mountain weather... The house keeping staff were great too...…
This rating could easily have been 5 star had an unfortunate incident not happened during our stay. We stayed here for 2 nights and on the second day of our stay we had lunch at their in house cafe Mama Mia. My daughter had sphagetti & cold coffee and we had also ordered pizzas etc. Couple of hours later my daughter started vomiting, until 3-4 vomits we just tried to keep her hydrated. But her condition started deteriorating, and when the duty manager Mr Somdutta came to our room, and instead of listening to us properly he started acting defiant and the conversation was certainly in a bad taste. Instead of showing willingness to conduct an inquiry on the quality of food in the cafe, he instead told us tht our daughter might be allergic to mushrooms (which is not the case at all). My daughter's food poisoning became worse, the oral medications were not working and she vomited at least 20-25 times. After that we had to rush her to the nearest govt hospital. My daughter was severely dehydrated and had to be given IVs in the hospital. We were really scared but somehow we were able to bring her back to Siliguri town next day. The rest of the hotel staff was still ok, they had connected us to a doctor on phone and one of the guards accompanied us to the govt hospital late night. But Manager Somdutta didn't even check in on us later. Really disappointed with his attitude and indifference even when this food poisoning happened after having food at the hotel's cafe.…
We stayed in Mayfair Himalayan Spa resort in Kalimpong for three nights as a part of our vacation in the north Bengal. Luckily, we got a glimpse of snow-clad mountain peaks from our breakfast table in the first morning of our stay before clouds covered the peaks. The sight of the town on opposite hilltop, combined with the bird songs, made our afternoons in the balcony of our room a dream-cum-true. A common feature of all the Mayfair hotels and resorts is their integration of nature and culture; the Kalimpong resort is also no exception. Walking along the corridors of the two floors of the “Annie Perry Heritage Block “and the “David’s Museum Library” gave a feeling of how the place was many decades ago. An additional unique feature is the “Igloo” on the lawn in front of the restaurant. Momo and Thukpa at Mamma Mia were delicious. The buffet breakfasts and dinners at the Tiffany offered wide range of dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. All the staff at the restaurant and the café were very courteous; among them, we specially remember prompt and efficient Satya.…
This hotel is situated at a pretty good location in Kalimpong, quite close to the main town. Let's see what I liked/disliked :- POSITIVES- 1. Excellent decorations. Mayfairs are known for decorating their resorts well with plants and statues and this resort is no less. The entrance section leading to the room side is the best with birds and plants decoration. 2. Room. The room we got was probably the biggest we have ever lived since Berjaya Times Square, KL. A big drawing room with a big bedroom with two bathrooms and 6 mirrors all around the room. That particular room seems like it is made for a group of 2-3 families to meet up and have a party together. 3. Mornings here are very refreshing with the wind chimes playing a sweet music with the breeze. 4. Food was good. 5. Service was quite fast although they did delay the extra bed service once. NEGATIVES- 1. Food selection in buffet is way too formulaic or rather I would say ordinary "aam janta" kind of cuz of so much crowd during the holiday season. There was nothing special like local thukpas or momos or some local cuisines or some exotic continental. All you have is that ordinary rice daal vegetable some non veg ordinary preps that you can get in any restaurant. (Although their desserts were good ). I have no complaints with taste, just the selection is nothing special. 2. Bell in our room was too low in sound. The card of our room got corrupted two times and the reason they gave us was logical but then such a thing never happened before in any hotel despite keeping the card in pocket as we have been till now. 3. Hot water was not available for bath on day 1 of our stay. Overall, a good stay. With so much crowd and people shouting and screaming all around forget about having peace when there are such groups living in this hotel but then you can't help its not in our hands …
We stayed here in this resort in March 2022 and the experience was surreal to say the least. It is a beautiful resort nestled in the Himalayas and provides an excellent experience to the guests not only in terms of scenic beauty but an excellent and professional staff starting from room service to reception and of course cafeteria. Special mention of me Sandip in cafeteria. Well done and would surely want to be back here .
Best hotel in Kalimpong.Well trained staff clean and spacious rooms. This is a heritage property but very well kept.Very nice view of mountains from the hotel lawn .Food and beverage options were good .Hotel is located at a five minutes walk from main markets in Kalimpong.Overall a very good stay .
This was one of the best hotels..Best location best view best staff best food.. gaming place , swimming pool.. We stayed only one day.. but really enjoyed.. Next time atleast I will stay for 2 days minimum.. 5star
A fabulous rendezvous among close family members. Particularly when just last year we lost our nearest and dearest ones in Covid 2020. It was kind of soul searching for all of us at the foothills of the Himalayas in the serenity of Mayfair kalimpong
One of the best Hotel Mayfair Himalayan, Mayfair never fails to impress. The service was excellent the view from the Lawn area was superb and the staffs were very welcoming and caring. The Food was really good also.
The hotel occupancy was not even 10% and still they didnt upgrade us to better room, the only difference in the other room was the view, and for that Mayfair demanded 4000/- + tax extra per night per room. Also when we asked for bonfire because of the cold weather they asked us an extra amount of 3500/- + tax for the same. Whereas we stayed at Mayfair Darjeeling and over there there was no such extra costs. Seriously dissapointed with kind of service.
