PaliGhar, a scenic countryside farmstay, aims to promote Kalimpong as a destination for the discerning traveller. PaliGhar offers an authentic, rustic and comfortable experience of Nepali heritage, culture and cuisine. With an aim to follow a conscious lifestyle, we offer sustainably built cottages that were constructed using locally available resources and handmade mud-bricks. PaliGhar is everything you'd want in a homestay experience. Tucked away in a perfect outskirt setting, ecologically conscious and sustainable architecture, perfect hosts and lip smacking food. I was on a work trip here with a friend of mine who joined in for a holiday and it catered so perfectly to both our needs. On our 'off day' we took a beautiful walk through the forest and farms to the river down below with Kabir, Ahana and doggos of course. The food quality, presentation, taste and timings were spot on! Sanjay, the caretaker, always greeted us with the warmest smile, looked after all our needs and made sure we had hot water available at all times. It was amazing just connecting with the hosts with places in Uttarakhand that I thought only I knew of because of work! I could write an essay about this place! We had company when we wanted it, we had privacy when we wanted and we had the best serene view. Their setting outside for having your meals is just so well thought out and curated. Pictures don't do justice to the experience felt. We are so grateful for the hospitality we received at the beginning of our trip that it just set the perfect tone. It is a gorgeous place with soulful people!

Fell in love with PaliGhar - it was everything we were looking for and more :) Cozy, clean and comfortable cottage for two, in the middle of a lush green and colorful farm. Caught the most beautiful sunset on our last day! It was quiet, calm and away from the Kalimpong market, which we enjoyed. Hosts, Kabir & Ahana, were extremely helpful and hospitable. We went on a lovely walk to the river, down an hour or so from the stay. Food prepared by the caretaker, Sanjay, was spot on. Homely, hygienic, made from fresh produce - what's not to love. We were looking forward to breakfast each passing day. Left with very happy memories, and all the places we stayed at up ahead on our trip, we kept comparing it to PaliGhar, and nothing came close.

A idyllic resort nestled in Kalimpong with a friendly setting. The right place to just laze around with nature and gaze the clear sky or breathe the fresh mountain air. Kabir and his wife, who owns the property are very gracious host. They not just look after for your food, stay, comfyniess but also for the day to day activities, play with you indoor or outdoor. Something which gives you inner peace and opportunity to stay close to nature is beyond star rating scale. For those who look for 5 star property, for them it's sparing clean, it's organically natural , everything is super earthy fresh and yummy and beautiful.

I visited Palighar with my brother and friend in the last week of December. This beautiful farmstay was recommended to me by a friend who’s from kalimpong . We had an amazing time just being able to unwind and enjoy the surroundings, a perfect getaway from all the hustle bustle . The hosts , Kabir and Ahana were lovely and made sure our stay was super comfortable. Rooms were very clean and spacious for 3 people with an extra bed . The food was very good with options of authentic Nepali thali , burgers and pastas . Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and is looking for a farm stay experience .

If you need a break from the crowds and enjoy a simplistic gateway, highly recommend Palighar. The rooms have a very basic, clean and rustic feel to it. The property is vast and beautiful, Which allowed us to really be one with nature!! Bananas, avacados, tea all grown right there!! The Hosts Ahana & Kabir, were very warm and attentive, the food awesome!! The staff very courteous. We dined in beautiful Alfresco settings, admist gorgeous hand grown flowers !!
