Our resort is ideal for experiential travelers who love the wonders of nature and wish to get an insight into the culture of remote eastern Himalayas. With no television to distract you, you feel the cool mountain breeze and listen to bird songs. We promise you a completely different experience. A place that is miles away from everything that you would want to leave behind, yet so close to everything. We offer 5 independent spacious rooms, with attached western toilets with Hot/ Cold running water, and a large private balcony. Our rooms are separated and spread across, making them ideal for social distancing. In addition, we have a well-stock library where you can borrow books. Undertake Nature & Village walks, Picnic Lunch at a nearby river, learn to cook yummy momos, sit by the Bonfire, and much more. We recommend a minimum of 2 nights stay to have a rewarding experience at our Eco Farm.

Nestled in the hills of Kalimpong, The Kalimpong Village retreat is a perfect place for a short escape from the maddening city life! A comfortable stay, surrounded by greens ,a great place to relax and unwind. Foods served were delicious! Local dishes prepared by excellent hostess Suprina were additional attractions! The property is in the midst of naturally grown tall and old trees making it a habitat for number of species of birds. The owners Siddharth and Suprina are extremely nice, caring and helpful. They have actually given us a delightful experience of staying at a home, away from home!

Sid Kafley Chhetri and his wife Suprina are super hosts. They know how to make the guests feel at home and comfortable with the right pinch of adventure. You choose depending on what you like cause Kalimpong Village Retreat has it all - be it a Honeymoon destination (a secluded solo cottage with a waterfall at your disposal) or be it a work-from-home destination for 2/4 weeks or be it a family/office trip. We stayed in the cottages underneath the dining hall, overlooking the lush, green vegetation and echoing the soothing 24x7 waterfall sound. The blankets were super comfy and the bed gave proper rest to the swollen feet. Lower Icche (Baara Mile) has etched a mark forever in our minds and we would recommend this to travellers who want to make memories in wilderness.

I stayed in the cottage away from the main building. You wake up to views of the mountains from your bed. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. They indulge you with local food based on your preferences. Sidharth was very helpful to make the stay more enriching including picking me up from a hill base as I got my car stuck there. There are some amazing spots close to the property, much of it is untouched and extremely beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Want to stay away from the hustle bustle of Kalimpong town, amidst unspoilt nature and silence only to be awakened by your own voice? While there could be quite a few similar places, but coupled with the amazing hospitality, this is the place i am going to go back to. Located away from the town, the bungalows here sit right on the edge of the mountain, opening up a wide vista, only obstructed by the next layers of mountains ahead. Spread over an area difficult to explore because of its vastness, Sid (owner) will soon be creating an organic farm out here. Evening barbecue is something i will remember always and the mutton curry that Sid himself cooked on firewood. His wife was so kind to make me taste mutton momos, once she learnt i rarely had the momos with mutton filling. Every bit of interaction with a smile made my stay so memorable. Note: one has to walk about 400 mtrs from where the car drops you. They send persons to help you with their luggage

Kalimpong Village Retreat stands true to its name. Located 10 kms outside of Kalimpong city, it removes you from the crowd and commercialisation and puts you amidst trees, a farm, and a river that is a short trek away. The huts are made with local materials and methods, which help with cooling; they are located at short distances from one another and each has a private entrance, AND a balcony overlooking the hills. The huts are very generously sized and come with large geyser-attached bathrooms. The balconies are ideal for doing nothing and staring into the greens :) Another advantage is that it is about 20 mins from the city by car vehicle. You can choose to go sightseeing to the city, but still spend most of your time in the quietude back at the retreat. There is also a large hall - you can chill here, take a nap, borrow a book from their very well-curated library. We had fish curry the first day, chicken, momos, and pulao other days. The hosts, Sid and Suprina, will chat you up or give you privacy, but more importantly, they will help see the sights in the village. Take any place, Mt Everest, China, Ladakh, Indonesia, London, Cambodia - Sid Kafley has a story about each place. He should be a character in a movie. He will also light up a bonfire each night while talking about this adventures or his "days in the sun", as he likes to call it. By the way, there's a swimming pool and an orange orchard near the farm, just a couple of minutes away. The December weather is so ideal for sleeping under the sun. Not too warm, not too cold, just the right kind of breezy.
