Puri is my annual Christmas pilgrimage and for the last 10 years I have been staying in Sterling only. Over the last few years my experience has been mixed. In the past As a member I have stayed in minuscule guest rooms (other rooms were not available) I have stayed in studio rooms and I have stayed in 2BR rooms (now discontinued) also. This time I booked early (6 months back) and got my desired room, 1BR. The room was clean (sans a few broken latches) sheets were spotless, toilet was well stocked and clean (devoid of any smell, which used to bother us in the past) The service as usual was spot on, people are highly motivated and always smiling and greeting you. Our room was not ready when we were checking in (not the resort’s fault, we wanted a ground floor room, whichI had not informed earlier) so we went straight for lunch. In the past years we never dined at Utkala Restaurant (in house) because we had some bad experiences, we always dined outside (be it in The BNR or Chung Wah or Sonar Bangla). But this year everything changed. The food quality was superb and the service was even better. We always order ala-carte (buffet in my opinion leads to over-eating and wastage). The food was prepared fresh (with fresh ingredients) and served with lots of of Love. Over a period of 4 days we had among others, mutton (handi mutton), Lobster (butter garlic) Chicken(curry and butter chicken), paneer etc. The taste, quantity and presentation was spot on. Best part of the dining experience was the service. Apart from the ever efficient Rahim (a sterling puri veteran) I would call out Lijalin for being hard working, efficient, ever smiling. Because of her and the food, this year all our food were in Utkala Restaurant. There is an overall improvement in the infrastructure of the resort. Now they are even providing chairs and umbrellas in the beach (a much needed service) the gardens are well maintained, flowers blooming and fragrance soothes you. There were some issues regarding making up of bed at night (it took more than 40 min after my request) but sometimes this happens. Overall a wonderful experience

Sterling is a beautiful resort with adequate rooms, views and amenities like pool and spa. They have two restaurants, Utkala and Ama Odisha. We had buffet lunch and breakfast at Utkala, the food was diverse and delicious. The management team of the restaurant, including Salim and Rani, took good care of us. The rooms were neat; the housekeeping team led by Prateek and including Narottam was competent and paid careful attention to the needs of their guests. The only downside of this resort is the littered beachfront. I hope the hotel authorities and/or the municipality clean up the beach to improve th experience of the visitors.

Our stay at Sterling Puri is going to be a fond memory. Starting from the great hospitality of Sterling (which we are getting across Sterling resorts), lip-smacking food, homely staff to hygiene and cleanliness. They have exceeded our expectations. They also have beach access which would take you around 5mins by walking and one should visit that because you won’t get such serene, calm, beautiful and pristine beach away from those crowded beaches of Puri. I would like to mention few staff name who made our stay really memorable. Mr. Manjil, F&B manager, restaurant staff; Lopamudra, Nur, Rahim, and some others made sure that we always return with a great culinary experience and full stomach. Prakash, Uttam and Tunu were very prompt in cleaning our room with a smiling face.
Just I think we would like to suggest, rooms need more maintenance or we can say small repair work here and there. If we have a got a little sea view, it would have been nice.

Had a lovely stay at Sterling Puri. Overall experience was good. But improvements can be done on house keeping. It was raining on most of the days we were there. Our room no was 1174 and it was the last room on the first floor. When it rained water used to get logged there. There was a drain there but it was clogged so the water could not drain. On the ground floor they have provided foot mats outside the room which is not available in the first floor. Especially during rainy time with the water in front of your room as you enter the room it gets wet. Food was very good as service by Sujatha who attended on us both the days during dinner was very good. Wishing her all the very best.

The approach road and the location of the hotel could be an issue to travelers without their own vehicle. For every trip down to Sargadar or temple and back to hotel costs around 400 rupees by auto or toto. Rooms on the front have balconies but rooms at the back do not. Sea is pretty far off from the hotel which although you can view from the campus but it is not possible for an old person or kids to walk down there.
The food however is amazing as are the hotel crews specially Sujata, Sapath, Lezaline, Bubu, Gayetri and others.

The staff and restaurant are highlights of Sterling Puri. The staffs are very welcoming and supportive. The restaurant offers delicious and authentic Odia cuisine, we loved the Dalma and Kukuda Tarkari. Thanks to Lopamudra, Lizalin, girl with the thick round spectacle for the chat and great service, you deserve a pat on your back. Special thanks to Sahil for his suggestions/tip and Maksud for getting my son's favorite snack prepared as a parting gift, you guys gone an extra mile to give us a homely feeling.
The resort located in the far south-east part of Puri and city is like 8 KMs away. You need to take an auto to reach either Jagannath Temple or Golden Beach. There is a neatly kept pool, games room, kids play area and a good Spa available in the resort. Also there is an entrance to the beach from the resort (opens only from 6 AM to 5:30 PM). There is a souvenir shop available in the resort. Ample parking available and there is no scarcity of staff or support. Bicycles are available for rent in the resort (INR 100 for 60 minutes) and Reception arranges transportation either Taxi or Auto based on our choice.
The only reason I took off a star from rating is due to the fact that the room provided to me was really-really small. I found the room was inadequate for a 3 night stay with a family consisting of 2 adults and a child. Despite having this booking done weeks ahead of journey and being a Sterling Circle user I was expecting a better room however the room disappointed me.

It is a nice experience to stay at Sterling Resort, The near by beach is dirty & not appealing. The food is good & hygienic, you can add some more fruits atleast in breakfast. Housekeeping is good. Air cooling at lobby should be improved, as most of the time it remains hot & humid at Puri. The non veg dishes should not be placed on the same table, it should be placed on exclusive table as pilgrims are also staying there, and there is a fair chance of mix up. It is my observation. Better take zoom car and roam around..... Puri temple is not far away...u may get some autos as transport.... But I would suggest you to go with personal transport.
