It's located on the end of puri main sea beach near light house. The main beach area is crowded so it's a advantage for this hotel bcz it is at the end. One gate exit of hotel garden area is opening on beach direct.
Also every room have balcony on first floor (where I stayed) and backdoor entry to pool and garden area for ground floor. Closed and open dining area both available near pool.
Room charges 6000 to 8000 per night depends of peak to non peak months.
The rooms are plush and elegant with all amenities. Attached balcony is cozy with cane sit outs. The pool was great and so was the quality of water. Of course the deep end is quite deep and not advisable to novice swimmers although there are lifeguards.
While at the beach, as for Kalia. The lifeguard who has seen many waves in the sea and the witnessed climate changes up-close in his own words.
The breakfast spread was good all the days that we stayed. So was the dinner and lunch variety. We experienced torrential rain one evening and it was quite an experience hearing the sea growl. Room service was up to the mark.
While checking in they like any star property offers a hot towel and a refreshing drink.
I had plenty of suggestions some of which were missing:
A children’s corner with indoor and outdoor games.
A souvenir shop.
A cultural show / Odisi dance etc.
With respect to the room, a shaving mirror with magnifier was missing and so was a tray in the shower area.
Over all a very enjoyable stay.
The resort is located at the far end of the Beach Road, with Hotel Sonar Bangla as its immediate neighbor. The lobby is beautifully decorated with a balcony giving an expansive view of the ocean.
Our rooms were situated at the lower level, with direct access to the garden area and the pool. They were well appointed, a bit old fashioned, complete with wooden furniture and fittings. I liked the overhead ceiling fan. The washroom was complete with amenities and hair dryer. The rooms were quite clean. This time there were disposable glasses provided inside the rooms.
Coming to the resort as a whole, the palatial look and feel with immense greenery throughout pleased the eye. The pool is superbly done but unfortunately, the same was closed due to the dreaded #COVID19. Small pots and plants adorned the pool area. A vast lawn is there for you to take an evening stroll, with the sound of waves crashing as your company.
The highlight of our stay was the food. I was mesmerized by the way the Chef churned out amazing dishes every single time. The breakfast was not up to the mark though, but a-la-carte was terrific. I asked for sauteed veggies one day, that was also served with finesse, although the same was not available on the menu. The service and staff were prompt and outgoing. They were always on their toes to make our stay comfortable.
There is a beach access door wherein you need to cross the road and straight to the beach. It is secluded (any which way it was secluded throughout) and quiet. Just lay down under the sun and relax.
Will surely come next time with the hope that things relax a bit and especially the pool is open.
Property is well located on the beach not too far from the market
Staff is excellent
Service is excellent
Clean
Large well kept garden
Very receptive and efficient front desk
Cons:
Small swimming pool. No pool discipline. Guests allowed to jump in with normal clothes and no shower
Guests allowed to play loud outdoor music
Toilets are small. In need of serious maintenance
Rooms need renovation
There is a road between the hotel and the beach
Quality of food in the restaurant is very average and definitely overpriced
Everything was wonderful since first minute to last minute of our stay . Each and every staff from housekeeping to the Manager , Mr. Bidhubhusan Biswal , handsome and energetic gentleman , of the resort was personally available to take care of their guests. Receptionist , Debashmita is always ready to help . She has a loving ever smiling face.
A stay at Hans Coco Palm Resort situated at Puri marine drive road, is the ultimate experience of luxury and comfort. From the moment we stepped foot here, everything looked surreal. It is not just your ordinary stay at a resort but an experience that engages your senses and memory that stays with you for a lifetime. The staffs were approachable, jolly and hollistic at all times. We were given one of the best located rooms ( swimming pool view ) and the balcony really had our heart. From lavish breakfast spread to being close to nature, we had a lot of fun. A private swimming pool, expert masseuse, and a well maintained vast greenery environment that brings you close to nature - what else could be needed. It was an unforgettable experience.
With lots of love , from Himadri Dey , Mrs Soma Dey and Miss Monsoon Dey from Siliguri , Baghajatin Park , West Bengal.
One Special Request :: please give complementary mini bar during check in. Please don't take any extra amount for the first time. It looks unprofessional .
I have been visiting coco palms since 15 years , it's all same till now and no renovation has been done in room or washroom. Found a lizard in washroom .
Paying 6k was not a worth for this kind of service .
Sadly we checked out next day from the hotel and checked into holiday resort .
Positives that we discovered:
1. Beautiful property with swimming pool, trees
2. Well maintained
3. Excellent restaurant and food; both Indian and continental. We did not try Chinese. Roast chicken, pizza, fish finger, Dalma, Mutton are must try items.
4. Rooms on first floor have sea views with balcony.
5. Just come out of the hotel back gate, cross the road and you reach the sea. Far away from Swargodwar, so less crowd and vey enjoyable in the sea also.
6. Each and every staff member including security, gardener all very polite, helpful, always greeting us with a smile and folded hands. I cannot help but mention Upendra in the restaurant. He took personal care of us, advised us on foods, used to reserve tables for us and what not.
7. The next time I go to Puri Coco Palms is must.
Negatives:
1. Rooms on first floor ideal for 2 persons. But if you have a third member extra bed might cramp you a bit at night.
2. Ground floor rooms not having sea view.
3. Not a negative but worth mentioning that for their each and every menu item, quantity is too much. Each plate can be shared by more than 2 people. If you are a couple you are bound to waste foods. I gave a suggestion to them to keep these items and quantity but introduce a reduced portion as well with less price tag.
Room was clean as usual. Staffs are courteous as earlier. Many known staff faces we used to see whenever we visit here.
Rajendra Das House keeping incharge personally met and asked if anything is necessary from his end. A flower bouquet sent in my room on request , which was complementary too.
Only once in earlier years I stayed in ground floor. Rest of the time I stayed in 1st floor always. This time I noticed lots of leeches moving outside the room i.e within courtyard of the room adjoining lawn. Though immediately the lady incharge of housekeeping in the evening came and arranged to spread insecticide outside the room.
But I must say that Hans Cocopalm is having “Horribly weak wifi” connection. This not at all acceptable when the hotel is charging INR 7000 + 12% GST . The almost same tariff Oberoi Grand of Kolkata , a heritage 5 Star property of charges.
This time neither we were getting Vodafone tower inside the room nor, wifi of the property. Instead of requesting in reception it was unsolved. What I understood, hotel management rented only slow speed broadband connection from service provider.
Vodafone connection could also be better if hotel management asked Vodafone to install amplifier.
These two are essential to stay in a property , now the management should understand this.
This time though we are supposed to stay upto 3rd August, getting check out today on 2nd August and shall stay in Bhubaneswar. Though this part is absolutely unplanned and only to get rid of weak wifi and weak Vodafone tower within the property.
