To start with the hotel is not very big as seen in pics but Location, rooms, service, and food are good. The standard rooms comes with all the basic amenities which u would look for. Hotel is next to beach which is quite clean. If u go to beach u can ask for fresh towels and the hotel obliges. the front desk is good, but the check out time is very strict, which they inform u when u check in. Wifi and other things are free food is good but the hotel should improve the buffet breakfast we stayed for 4 days all the day menu.was same overall a pleasant and memorable experience..

Room: Average. Cleanliness can be improved
Food: Good. Many items in the menu were not available. Breakfast had very little spread. No Kids menu. But I wont complain much as the price was very less.
Location: Good. Hotel provides two complimentary tickets daily to enter the blue flag beach (Golden Beach) which is like 50 mts from the hotel entrance
Parking: No dedicated parking. Got to park the car on the road, but hotel has guards appointed.

We Visited Puri to have Bhagwan shree Jagganath Darshan. I wanted Sea Facing Hotel Room. Scanning Google Map, I stumbled on this Property. good thing was that it has Lift so one can select Higher Floor. I got Sea Facing Room on 3rd Floor with nice Balcony. We had our Morning /Evening Tea sitting in Balcony watching Sunrise and Sunset, I spent my free time in Balcony. Room was of good size, was cleaned everyday, mattress was good. toilet and Shower needs change. Fortunately we got Hot water in shower any time of the Day. Breakfast was OK. Standard fare. Restaurant staff would get dishes we ordered from Kitchen. we didn't bother to go and get food from buffet spread. Everything was served on Dining table. We visited Temple with Pandaji of the Hotel. He guided us in that mad rush in Temple and we could do darshan of the Lord. Next day He came and gave us Prasad in Box to bring home. We travelled to Konarak and Chilka, Taxi of the Hotel's Travel Service charges more than prevailing rates but their Taxis were new. We used services of Travel co. just across the road. This Hotel has open area which is rented out for wedding reception. One evening was noisy with orchestra belting out songs in Oriya ( which we didn't understand.) Singers were average, only Music interludes were good. I watched the reception from Balcony, Overall stay was good.

The good things:
Great location, right next to a very clean portion of the Puri beach. Decent spread for the buffet breakfast and good food. Comfortable beds in larger than average rooms.

The not so good:
1. Booked two deluxe rooms via MakeMyTrip. When I reached in the evening, the front office did not have a booking by my name. I had my elderly in laws with me and the front office just could not figure it out. They showed me the standard rooms and wanted us to take those without any compensation and had the unprofessional attitude to just tell me to “speak to the online guys” (read MakeMyTrip). After arguing for 30 minutes was given two deluxe rooms on separate floors. Not a big problem but definitely a less than ideal checkin experience.
2. Checkout time of 8 AM. Puri is a beach destination. Does it make sense to ask people to checkout at 8 AM. I knew this was the rule but it is crazy. The breakfast time is till 10:30 how can you ask people to leave before that. They call incessantly from 8AM asking when are you going to leave the rooms. I had requested for 10 AM but had to leave by 9-9:15 because of their harrassment of repeated calling on the room phone. I had an 8 month infant with me and it was just crazy. Is this how you treat your guests?
3. Maybe my luck but there was a wedding with a very loud and incompetent band. Had to call the reception at 11:30 pm to request them to SHUT UP.

We had opted for suite 407 as it was sea facing and just right for our group of three adults and a kid but there was a stink of sewage in the entire suite. As the smell was not coming from the bathroom but from the AC vent, it seems that the drainage and AC duct are interconnected somewhere. Despite multiple requests we were not provided an alternate room on the first night and had to stay in that unbearable stench. We were even okay with moving to a double room with an extra bed but the hotel refused to accommodate us and finally gave us a side view three bed family room on the second day, and even had the gall to say that they were providing an upgrade, simply because this room could accommodate six people. Initially they were also not willing to give any other concession despite our having to move from a costly sea facing suite to a large non sea facing room (that we didn't need). Eventually the hotel did give us a discount, but it was only after a major altercation with the duty manager Mr. Mishra at the front desk. At all times he made us feel that they were doing us a favour by changing our room even though their own housekeeping staff had come and confirmed the stench (and pleaded helplessness to do anything about it). It seemed to us that the hotel had sold us the room despite knowing that there was a problem with it (it was not available initially on their website when we were looking to book but was made available for us after we had called them). This lack of honesty and the abrasive behaviour from the manager Mr. Mishra really left a bad taste in the mouth.

Apart from this incident and the fact that for a three star hotel prices were almost equivalent to five star hotel prices, the hotel also has other disadvantages:

1. No direct access to the beach - you have to take daily (free) tickets from the front desk and go through the adjacent OTDC Panthaniwas property
2. Prices of some menu items especially the tandoori pomfret are a bit on the higher side for the location
3. There is limited parking within the hotel compound and most people had to park in a no parking zone in the street outside. The limited parking inside the hotel can at the most accommodate six cars.

In terms of positives, their restaurant is nice and their food is in general good. Also, apart from the manager Mr. Mishra everyone else was nice and cooperative. Room sizes are decent and they are well kitted and sea facing rooms have a good view.

Room taken was suite, could have provided a double bed but sea view was awesome.
Breakfast is very mundane and almost same everyday with very slow service, even think staff is less.
Menu meals very expensive from all standards where there are 100 options available in close proximity.
Hotel holiday resort is a better option in my opinion.
Staff is courteous with prompt response though.

This was our second time at the Jamindar's palace. Love this property overlooking the sea. We had been upgraded to the sea view rooms. Management had been very cordial.
We stayed for 2 nights 24 and 25 January
Booking had been with breakfast included
The food especially the buffet breakfast is a huge spread and worth a mention.
Room interiors are tasteful ,rooms are clean and cosy

Excellent Room & Balcony with great sea view. Promt House Keeping, Room Service Staff.

However, all the hard work of the team has been let down by PATHETIC Buffet Breakfast and very unprofessional staff at the restaurant.

The F&B Manager Mr Paresh Mohanty does not know what is going on in his area of operation, busy in his own world.

The GM Mr Jogendra Boipoi not bothered to take any action inspite of repeated complains to him wrt the Buffet Breakfast and non availability of snacks at the restaurant. Slept over the issue like Judishtir.

Out of our 4 complimentary breakfast, we hardly could have anything on 3 occasions and had at May Fair Waves on 1 occasion. GM refused to compensate even the 1day BF bill at May Fair. The front office though courteous was helpless.

High time the owner takes stock of the situation.

Good place to stay, but be prepared to Starve!!

The worst Service one can experience is in this hotel called Jamindar Palace, Puri. Other than rooms, everything including food, breakfast Service is bad. Strapple pin in 'Poha', asking your id to prove you are a senior citizen, Receptionist accompanying you to open your room( key not working) are common things here. And then the staff has the audacity to laugh it way. I will suggest future travellers to stay elsewhere.

Have stayed twice at this hotel due to access to a private beach. Otherwise Puri's beaches can be very crowded.
Conveniently located, you can take an Auto Rickshaw right from the hotel to the Temple.
I halted here during my long distance raod trips twice and I got a very nice parking facility. Break fast spread is not impressive. Staff at the restaurant need training. Though they announce breakfast at 7.30, the complete spread come in only around 8.00 am. So if you can opt for Room only without breakfast.
