This was the former palace of Maharaja of Panchkot (Purulia,Bengal) and has now been converted to a heritage hotel. Amazing location, right in front of the sea with a huge lawn and an excellent Bar with superb dining. What else do you need.

My recent visit in april 2021 was 4th in number to Mahodadhi Palace.I am a regular visitor since 2016 and have seen this hotel journey from past 5 years.Lets talk on point 1) Location - 10/10. 2) Front office staff - Very prompt and caring understands customers need. Cleaning staff and steward - prompt and acts to wishes...food is excellent and cleaning of room is well done. Points In regards to infrastructure - Now this palace rooms requires maintenance and the rooftop restaurant is totally a miss, which was the most/best place to sit and dine. Specifically cottage rooms will be missed.... Overall it was a excellent stay...

A Palace of the Colonial era converted into a luxury hotel. Every aspect of the heritage is maintained, however the hotel offers all modern day facilities. We stayed for 4 nights and had a memorable experience. Front desk staff is always smiling and ready to help 24x7. Mr.Panda (General Manager) and his team puts all their best efforts to provide the best service for the comfort of their guests. The hotel has 12 spacoius rooms (6 heritage & 6 heritage suits). If you want a spacious accomodation go for the suits & if you want to enjoy sitting in the balcony go for the heritage rooms. The hotel has a bar on the 1st floor, a open air evening restaurant & a dedicated vegetarian restaurant serving delicacies from morning to night. The lawn in front is well maintained with a good variety of seasonal flowers. The lawn in the rear has enough space for outdoor activities. There is a hall in the rear which can be used for conference and functions. Swimming pool is well maintained with clean water. One area of improvement is the complimentary breakfast, which I felt is little sub-standard when compared to all other services of the hotel. Overall the stay was enjoyable and will cherish the memories. A Thumbs Up & 5 Star *****

If you are a vegetarian and especially from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, punjab etc, then you might have trouble to find a pure vegetarian restaurant and even if you find you may not like the taste. All your search end here.In this restaurant you will have amazing food and the taste is so... good and also the price is reasonable and the location is very close to the beach and the main market. Vegetarian or not you must visit Mahodadhi's Restaurant

As everyone has mentioned, it is a heritage property. Located at a walking distance from the Swargdwar beach, the entrance isn't too brightly lit up to be noticed in dark. The actual building is distanced from the beach road by an expansive lawn with neatly maintained green areas. We reached around 8.30 p.m. on Friday, 6 January 2020, and were initially allotted room 110, which was the last room towards the left of the reception. Though the room was suite, and hence huge, it had total of 3 light sources, one of which was in the bathroom. It was so dim that we had to resort to using our phone's torchlight. Upon multiple requests it was changed the next day to 107 (or 109, can't remember), which was a lawn facing one and had an attached balcony. This was again a suite but a much better one than the previous. Amenities: -Cupboards -TV with STB -Toiletries like soap, shampoo, showercap etc -Tea kits -Water bottles/drinking water -Pool in the hotel The beds are done up like those of royalties, with sheer curtains. There are 2 restaurants at the gate of the hotel, one a pure veg, and the other one serving non-veg as well (inside the premises). Pros: -Location! -View -Feel Cons: -Maintenance -Little overpriced We were 3 in a room, and stayed for 2 nights, which cost us around 10.8K. This included breakfast, which you could avail from the Veg Restaurant near the gate. It is not a buffet spread, but consists of a fruit salad, tea/coffee, juice and a main item (poori/idli/uttapam/dosa etc)

The vintage property built years ago has been converted into heritage hotel with an old soul with young and energetic people managing it and located in heart if the city.. Visited Puri early this March and stayed with Mahodadhi Palace for 4days. Had a pleasant stay with cordial staffs at your service at any and every point. They have two very beautiful in-house built restaurant , Bar-On (bar come restaurant on the first Storey of the palace) and Open Air Live Counter Sea View Restaurant. Food is Yum and Really tasty. Rooms has a vintage charm of its own but yes to maintain that vintage look you really need to look into the furniture kept inside the room (they are not atall maintained well and broken in many cases) which needs attention to maintain is Royal outlook. The beach is just on the other side of the road, and you can visit anytime in the night(our few mid night visit gave us another unusual feel of Puri - away from the hustle and bustle). Staff's are extremely well behaved and cooperative.. Mr Gautam, restaurant manager helped us arranging a candle Light dinner and made things more exciting. They have a nice Swiminng pool and the overall decor is nice. Definitely a good place to stay..

Mahidadhi palace is made up of red stone and it is the summer house of the raj Panchkot. It is very old heritage hotel with bad maintenance. It looks like antique piece hotel in now a days. The rooms are very old style.

Staying at this hotel is a throwback to a bygone era. However, the service is pleasingly in authentic Odisha style- genuine and warm. The staff at the bar and front desk were excellent. A special mention for Ms Kajal and Mr Trilokaya who were helpful in making our stay really welcoming. The hotel restaurant served amazing food for vegetarians. Hats off to all the staff there too. Whilst staying true to a heritage theme, the bathrooms do need a refresh. The other thing is WiFi needs to extend into rooms not just the lobby. So despite the need for some modernisation at Mahodadhi, exceptional staff turns a good hotel into an excellent vintage.

My wife and I are foodies and we constantly lookout for interesting joints to enjoy our grub. On a family holiday to Puri, we decided to food explore and that is when we chanced upon the Mahododhi Palace. Mahodadhi Palace - A Beach View Heritage Resort in Puri, (stones throw from Swargdwar) is an impressive red stone property that was the erstwhile summer palace of Maharaja Panchkot. And perched on top of the hotel, the Baron Bar was a revelation. It is an open sky British-themed-bar , pouring an amazing conflation of liquors, cocktails, and mocktails along with some delectable snacks and food. We were particularly impressed with the British era fan, lights, switches and fan regulators that still worked. Service was good and so was the food. Would recommended to those who love history, heritage and their food... here you can combine them all.....
