my father and mother stayed last week in this hotel and was up to expectation mark, although distance from jagganatth temple was more which troubled them but any how suggested for good stay as hotel is away from city noise. also they told that tv remote was not provided after consistent reminders ,but overall it was good to stay there...

This hotel is situated at far distance from Puri beach,the last hotel of CT road the colony of fisherman,maximum time bad fish smell around you.and every time you have to spent 50-60 Rs.INR for auto rent to reach the Puri beach,so if you 2 time go to beach then you have to spent 200-250 rs.INR.It is more far from Jagannath Mandir.Min.80 Rs.INR. Auto rent.
Room service is vary Poor,no cleaning and changing of Pillow and Bed cover and towel also everyday.No sweeping and no cleaning of bath room regularly.
it is not ideal for familiar,because every night call girl are available in hotel rooms as per requirement of customer.
Its a ideal hotel for group of boys who wants to make their nights golden.
Only one things is nice of this Hotel that is Food.Food is so much good quality and fresh and testy.i never thought that this quality of food is available at puri.
So,family man too careful before booking this hotel.Don't go with the overview of the hotel look.

I Stay in this hotel from 19 to 22 Jan, we have booked through cleartrip 02 rooms in reasonable rate. I & My Family are happy with the Hotel & service also food rates was reasonable, Hotel have lot of space my kid enjoy very much running here & there in Balcony. space of balcony is also wide and also have garden where you can enjoy your tea/coffee.
Hotel is little far from Swagdar/Market but you can enjoy in another beach near hotel, it takes 10 min walking distance to reach that beach.
Finally I am happy with the hotel service & with Mr Pramod.

Santana means consolation and this hotel is just that. Can't understand how it ended up getting such high rating on TripAdvisor.
First the good points. The hotel staff in general are nice, simple, courteous people. The rooms are quite good. There is a lawn where you can sit and relax and its a safe place to stay with family.
Now the reasons why I won't go there again and won't recommend it to anybody. I planned a trip with my family during the last Christmas break. None of the good resorts were available even one month in advance and so I opted for this hotel going by the reviews on TripAdvisor. I made an advanced payment via net transfer and they assured me that rooms will be ready when we arrive at 6 am. But we had to wait in the lobby for more than 2 hours before we finally got our rooms.
The hotel is at the end of CT road and even for going to the CT Road beach, one needs to hire an auto. The hotel has a fisherman's colony on one side and something like a cold storage/ice factory on the other. There is nothing quaint about this.... it stinks. They said the sea is well visible from the terrace but most of the view is blocked by houses and anyway the terrace is littered with birdshit.
Their restaurant's so-called specialities turned out to be very average (don't confuse that with 'homely food') and every day they would ask us to order our meals in advance but thankfully there are lots of good options in Puri and we hardly ate there after the first day.
Now to my worst experience with these people. I wanted to book a day long sightseeing trip and though there were lots of other operators, I trusted the hotel manager to do the booking and he assured me he'll get us good front seats on a deluxe bus. On the morning of the trip the tour operator was supposed to send a auto to pick us up from the hotel but there were none. So we went on our own to the starting point and located our operator. What greeted us was shocking. Instead of the promised deluxe bus, there was a old, rickety bus with narrow hard seats (no reclining, arm rests etc.). I called up the hotel manager and his first reaction was " Take whatever is there. Your fares are already paid and we won't refund". No sorry or He first won't admit he had promised a deluxe trip and later argued this is good enough, others were also travelling in the same bus. The others turned out to be very low-budget travellers. I wanted to cancel this trip even without refunds but it was our last day in Puri and I wasn't sure I'll be able to arrange another trip at the last minute. The whole journey of 13 hours or so turned out to be extremely uncomfortable. The guide was a semi-literate person with limited knowledge. It was an extremely tight itinerary with hardly any time for toilet breaks. The lunch stop was at a dirty and cheap hotel. The trip was a total disaster thanks to the incompetent fellow at Hotel Santana. These people have no idea about quality service and a minimal standard certain people will expect.

Went to Puri last weekend with my family and as it was a very short and compact tour went for this hotel. Everything has its own pros and cons.
Pros first - The rooms are spacious, toilets are clean, manager Mr. Pramod is very good and ready to help, the hotel is well decorated, staffs are soft spoken.
Cons - Location is not that good - for a bath in the morning the beach is nearby but it is far from the main area and is deserted in the evening so you need to give auto fare to reach main area and spend the evening sitting beside the beach, a good mosquito problem thought he hotel provides all out :-), Bed sheet and pillows are very dirty, staffs do not listen to manager (e.g. Pramod asked one of his staff to provide hot water but that did not reach our room, asked for a Veg food without Potato but that item contained Potatoes and many), TV channels and remote are not good, in the restaurant whatever you order be it Do-Piyaza, Curry or Butter Masala all the preparation are same.
But any way Mr. Pramod arranged a good short trip for us to visit Konark, Chandravaga, Ramchandi Temple but the Cab charge was overpriced and the driver did not allow us to enjoy all the places and was in a hurry to complete the trip.

I had been to Puri on 9th oct 13 , booked this hotel thru clear tip .. Its a pathetic experience. Its located at the far from all . The food is extremely pathetic. Beach is atleast 2 kms from this Hotel. Every time i had to take auto to go to beach or any other place and every time it cost me min Rs 50-60 .. Room size is small. There is no single reason to stay in this Hotel.

I was supposed to check in by 7 pm on 1st Oct, 2011 with my family however, train reached Khurda Jn at 09:30 pm and from there I took an Auto rickshaw and reached the Hotel at around 11:30 pm. They were waiting as I called them twice and informed about the delay. They made arrangements for dinner and we were very happy about that as we were too hungry. The hotel is very decent, Their Staff never say "no" to anything and they always serve with a smile on their faces and are ready to help at any point of time, very friendly and good natured people. HDFC and Axis bank ATM's are situated within 3 minutes walking distance and more like SBI etc within 5 and 10 minutes from the Hotel. Auto rickshaw and normal cycle rickshaws are available to take you to Puri (main beach) don't pay more than 40/-for a single one way journey. If the cycle rickshaw puller is an old man, please be kind enough to give him atleast 50/- to 60/- bucks. But don't pay more than 40/- to 50/- to auto rickshaws, they will even ask for 100/- . The intercom systems available in rooms are all working and I ordered food and drinks sitting right inside the room. The food and price of food is worth and I would say its cheap and good food if you choose to have food right there. I am very satisfied with break-fast, lunch and dinner served there. Awesome Chili paneer, sandwich etc. i tried almost everything available and loved it. There's a bar attached however, you can have it inside the room and there is a F/L. Off shop beside the hotel. However, you can just ask someone to get it for you. they will be more than happy to serve you. There is no geyser in the washrooms but ask for hot water from them if required, you should get it from the kitchen. My daughter is just 2 1/2 years and does not sit at one place for more than few seconds. The staff used to take care of her and bring her back to us whenever she used to run out of the hotel. Kids can play in-house, there's a lot of space in the Hotel. Pramod, Bapi, Saroj and few others’s can't remember all their names but all of them provided me great service. I came back with great memories. My wife asked me to give them a good amount of tip as she was very happy and I was happier giving it to them. The room tariff and amenities very well compensates for staying a little away from the beach where huge hotels are on looking the Puri beach but inside even the receptionist does have the time to speak to you if you happen to visit to enquire about their tariff or anything else. I am happy that I booked Hotel Santana Puri and recommend it to all of you.

This hotel slightily away from,the main town area the rooms are fine with basic amenties.hot water is not available,service is good food in the resturant is fine. Overall a place for budget travellers do not expect to much for this price.
