To start with not very sure whether any option to give Zero rating or negative rating. If that would have been possible, I would have selected that rating. So unfortunately I am selecting 1 rating without having any other option. Anyway before you think that this review is about poor experience of staying, not it is not. This review is about NOT getting any accommodation even after advance payment with hotel money receipt and their acknowledgement of the same. We four families visited Puri, including kids. We booked the hotel directly calling the hotel, paid advance in September. They also sent the money receipt with all the details. We reached the hotel at 5'o clock in the morning of late December. Someone at the reception started checking the booking. He found the money receipt in hotel's receipt book and found the same. But to our surprise he could not find the room allotment, which is done by his superior. He made an attempt to call the superior and could not reach him. So we all waited in the beach early in that morning till 7-30 am, then got the call from hotel reception. Hoping to get the rooms, freshen up, kids can get rest and can start a good trip we headed toward the reception. The gentleman, who claims be to the superior or hotel manager or someone, delivers a nice message. He says, "Sir, there is a mistake. Although you made the booking we have given the rooms to other tourists. We forgot that you made the booking!! We can offer you less number of rooms for you to manage". In our utter disbelief it took some time for us to sink in the words. We argued but nothing happened except an easy phrase, "Sorry for the mistake". This hotel is supposed to be in one of the good list of hotels in Puri, but after seeing such professionalism I am sure to call it in one of the worst list of hotels! Good luck to anyone who has either have done any booking or planning to book a stay, but be careful about such harrasment or set an expectation that you might be stranded on the beach early morning because the hotel staff can be "sorry for not remembering the booking" and give your booking away to someone else.…
Best hotel for cheap and budget travellers. Rooms: small and shabby. Worn out needless interiors. Dirty linen. Cheap sofa cum bed which is treated as extra bed. Dilapidated verandah. 2/5 View: 5/5. Top class verandah view and thats the USP of the hotel. Service: 5/5 . The boys are fast and excellent. Cordial and polite. Food: Average food quality. Neither bad nor awesome. 3/5 We stayed for one night and left the hotel for another property. The guys insisted a lot to stay back and they would change the room but, we disagreed as the hotel rooms were pretty small.
Excellent location. Bang on the beach. Rooms are passable, needs cleaning and makeup. The towels are dirty and bedsheets are ok. Food, Indian- good, Chinese -Starchy and masala filled. The front office staff are good and helpful, so is the room service.
The hotel is spot on beach. Rooms are spacious and clean. Though I have stayed in high star hotels but the experience is awesome. Food is a highlight, typical bengali foods. Will keep you licking your fingers. The staffs are very helpful. The evening sit out on the beach arranged by the hoteliers is an example of their personal touch.
This is a very nice beachfront Hotel and is managed professionally. Even the food items ordered by us were up to the mark. The staff does its best to make your stay comfortable. Rooms on upper floor are advisable.
Let me start with the Cons: 1. The towels are a bit worn out. 2. The chairs are common. 3. They need to put clear signposts as to where to take a shower after coming from the beach and that there is a side-entrance that should be used after that. Now the Pros: 1. The manager, Mr. Sumanta, is an exceptional gentleman. Any kind of help and info that you might need, he is there. 2. The location is great. Not too crowded (unlike Sargodwar) but you can enjoy the view from the sea-facing rooms. 3. The food is great. We tried local Thali, Bengali, North Indian and Chinese. All the items were excellent. So if not for anything else, I will recommend a stay in this hotel because of the Chef and the View.
A Nice Quaint Hotel with basic amenities. If you are looking for a Hotel away from the din and bustle this could be a good choice. The sea facing rooms especially the ones on the top floor are quite spacious with a decent verandah. The washroom however is quite small . The staff is extremely cordial and the food is homely and tasty. If you are not the type who wants everything by the bell this is a good choice ....
Every year we go to Puri to spend sometime during July.. We stay in this hotel every year because of it's location.. the location is splendid.. it's calm and quiet and the sea beach and sound of waves are all we can see.. it's a treat to the eyes.. the rooms are average.. the amount of money taken is not worth it for the room and services.. the rooms are clean but the washroom is not upto the mark.. the food is not upto the mark.. there is no wifi in the rooms.. the rooms need service.. but the staff behaviour is very nice.. they are polite and helpful.. it's best to stay in this hotel and eat outside and recharge the cellphones for internet.. but if somebody overlooks room service and wants peace of mind and watch sea waves.. this is the best place..
Hotel Dreamland has far exceeded my expectations. Though my mother had already visited the place, yet I was still wary of the "goodness" of the hotel. But I am damn impressed by the hospitality, the food, and the property itself. Right from booking to staying, it was smooth. The hotel is on the New Marine Drive almost 15 minutes auto drive or 30 min walk from Swargadwar. The sea facing rooms on 1st floor and 2nd floor offer breathtaking view. Check in is at 8am and check out at 7am. They have their own 'nulia' to take you out in the sea incase you are the adventurous sort and those looking for visiting the Jagannath Temple- they have their own panda. The manager, a very soft spoken man is always keen to extend his helping hand and have really done some major favours in helping us save money. Not to forget the sumptuous food served every single day. There was hardly any dish that didnt amaze our taste buds.…
Our first time stay at this hotel after so many visits . The hotel is a bit far from swargadwar. It's next to the famous light house. We took the room on the 3rd floor (top) . The rooms was sea facing and we could view the sea from the bed itself . The service of the hotel was also good. Coming to the food.we loved it's food and it would never pinch your pocket. Overall the hotel was pretty good. Would love to stay here again.
