Very impressive locale and infrastructure compelled me to make a booking for 3 nights after 7 nights in a different resort in Shillong and another 7 nights in Cherapunji..the trip had to be cancelled due to travel restrictions.. now let me share my experience in my dealings with the 3 resorts..Ri Kynjai asks for FULL payment whereas the other two take a meager advance..Ri Kynjai insists on full payment within 4 days uof booking..they have absurd cancellation rates with strict and rigid timelines, without similar rules for themselves..on 20th April I cancelled my reservations.. while two resorts refunded within 24 hours, Ri Kynjai took 10 days after repeated reminders..the least they could have done was to indicate the time frame to avoid anxiety to a 75 Years old Army Veteran.. disappointing and frustrating…
The Best option to stay in Shillong. The resort is very tastefully designed and maintained . We stayed in the lake view cottage which has a wonderful view of the lake . The hotel has many view points . Even if you stay in room you can always view lake and surroundings . 45 acres of property with amicable service . Mentioning Ambhor, Anthony , Ai Zhor for their great service, helping around the menu and suggesting local delicacies. Housekeeping, check in was was efficient. The food at restaurant is good . Highly recommend for family , groups and couples . The distance to Shilong from the resort is 30min drive considering traffic which may be a small issue .
This was an incredible hotel. Architecturally beautiful and tasteful decor. The location is outside of the traffic filled Shillong, and really really impressive build. Every point seems to have been thought of. Each room looks out on to the lake, and there is a short walk down through the woodlands to get there. Very clean, pristine and full of luxury. Restaurant food and staff were excellent, brilliant choice in the morning for breakfast. Down sides, the reception staff felt a little cold in their welcome, and curt when additional things requested (wifi not working). The personal touch we felt in the restaurant was not felt by the reception staff. All in all, it is expensive, but worth the money - and we had a very good stay.
A one of a kind experience of staying in an exquisite property . Rooms were all wooden from flooring to ceiling . A beautiful view of the Umami lake n sun rise . They take you fishing too n for a trail walk . They have a buggy ( golf cart ) to take you around if required .because of the pandemic if you book directly with them they return the advance amount if you are positive before travel and in a Lock down they honour advance for a visit on a future date . Hospitality ambience and cleanliness was A1 . I stayed at a cottage but all rooms are equally majestic .
The stay was very comfortable . One of the excellent resorts on umiam lake and great location . The reception staff was very cooperative and efficient . Spectacular views and great interiors . Sansu in restaurant and Manisha at reception are an asset to this resort for their good nature and welcoming approach . Suggestion is to add more activities for the children like billiards , table tennis , trekking and cultural programmes in evening .
