I along with my 2 more colleagues visited Shillong on a business trip and we booked 3 rooms at Hotel Centre point for 1 night stay . After traveling from kolkata in the morning, driving up to Shillong and a hard day working needed a good sleep . Checked into the hotel and freshened up to have a good night sleep . At around 11 pm decided to switch on the AC and as soon as I did drops of water started falling from the AC . The AC is installed right above bed head and water drops kept falling on the bed . So I switched off the AC to stop the water dripping , but despite switching off the water keep dropping on my face . All my other colleagues too faced different types of maintenance issues in their rooms . The hotel charges Rs 6000 per night for a very ordinary room which is extremely exorbitant. Definitely not a good staying place other than it’s location.…
We stayed in this Hotel for about 4 days on our visit to Shillong. The hotel is conveniently located in the market area. Very comfortable stay. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff was helpful and courteous.
We decided to stay at this Hotel because it is close to the cafes in Shillong. Unfortunately there was no live music on the weekeend we were there, and the Corona Virus scare had just started. Anyway, the Hotel has a nice bar on the 5th Floor where we could comfortably sit and have our cocktails. Food was decent especially the Breakfast. Rooms were adequate size overlooking the bustle of the Market. Excellent and corteous service.
This restaurant Cloud 9 is situated in hotel Centre point. This is located right at the Police bazaar and is a landmark in Police bazaar. We went to Cloud 9 at about 7:00 Pm on a Thursday and it was almost empty. The beers are a bit costly here but the ambience is good. Had a beer and a fish grilled with greens. Peanuts are given as complimentary with drinks. The fish grill was superb. Rates are on the higher side. The view of Shillong of from Cloud 9 is good. A good place to pick up beer while in Shillong.
We did not stay at Hotel Center Point but we ate at its restaurant and had a marvelous, delicious dinner. The restaurant, which is part of the hotel, is easily accessible through an elevator wide enough to carry a wheelchair. There is a good variety of dishes for vegetarians as well, and they happily customized it for us by preparing dishes without garlic. And the service at the restaurant was superb. We really loved it. I wish I had discovered Center Point restaurant earlier and saved the struggle of finding good vegetarian restaurants in Shillong. Thanks to the Center Point team for such amazing food and service.
