Don't book this property if you have other options. It's not at all worth the price. Though the hotel and the room looked nice at the first glance it's not a comfortable stay. The washroom taps were broken. The main door lock was broken too. They did some work to fix the issues but the washroom tap could not be fixed. We almost had to use the washroom like primitive era. Secondly, it being a boutique hotel, the rooms are all connected with very thin walls. You will be able to listen to your neighbours song and pressure cooker music from 5 in the morning. Similarly your conversation can be heard from every other room. The dining area is way too small. They only offer breakfast. So in case it rains heavily and swiggy/Zomato do not accept your order you will have to fast. Very few staff so service though okay takes a lot of time. Suggestion is to avoid this one unless it's a very cheap deal.

A boutique hotel.. neat and clean. Helpful staff. Amanda and the chef Rakesh were super helpful. The walls are super thin though. The conversations next door can be clearly heard. And you need to be a good driver to negotiate the steep slope while entering the premises

This is around 70 – 80-year-old bungalow converted to hotel. Hence you can get feel of staying in an old heritage property. They do have new hotel adjacent to it but if you prefer old charm then stay in bungalow. This place is near to city center but quite away from the crowd on a small hill. They have beautiful small garden in front with sitting arrangements. Good to seat in the morning in these cold days. When we reach the place, staff has greeted us with smiling faces and always ready to help. Within 10 minutes we were in the room. High ceiling room is spacious with old charm furniture like cupboard, chairs, tables etc… Room has all the modern facility like wi-fi, tea maker and accessories, fridge… There was no air conditioner but I presume this place must be cool round the year. Toilets are also quite spacious with all modern accessories and toiletries. They give breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is very basic but very fresh and homely. For lunch/dinner you have to go out or call on swiggy (Prefer swiggy as traffic in shilong is horrible). Staff over there is very cooperative and they are prompt for your any requirement. This place is on small hill so both the side slope is there. If you have any issues with walking then prefer car here.

It’s an amazing place to stay! The location is very central. This house belonged to my grandfather but it was sold in the 70’s. The house still remains the same. The hotel staff was kind enough to show us around the hotel. I would recommend everyone to pay a visit to this lovely bed and breakfast hotel.

This establishment looked extremely pleasing at the outset. Being from Guwahati I had planned and booked 4 rooms for a family Night out here to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday for the night of the 18th of April, 2020. I made a booking through Booking.com and as per the terms there was no booking advance required and even if the property decided to collect an advance...it would be fully refundable on cancellation for any reason. At their exceptional request to pay an advance of INR 8000/- to confirm our booking we obliged and transferred the same post detailed email dialogue of multiple reconfirmations...confirming an immediate and full refund given any cancellations. As we are all aware - there was a nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 and we had to cancel. Following which my family and I have been constantly following up with Wanisha and Amanda at Cafe Shillong Bed - Breakfast for a refund with atleast 10 emails and 50 calls which have gone unanswered. I tried calling both the landline number at the hotel and the individual numbers of Wanisha and Amanda with no response. Once I even tried continuously ringing their numbers with a call out loop on each device atleast 25 times in absolute succession with no response. However, I did manage to irritate these 2 women to warrant an email response stating a refund to come through by 15th August. I have been continuously following up with them since and it's the 26th of August now with no response from these scamming thieves. Am still struggling to get my money back and these guys have just been ghosting our attempts to reach them completely. Please boycott these guys....they are crooks of the first order....the same group also owns RyKinjai and Centre Point hotels in Shillong. They may even have some control on Tripura Castle in Shillong...I am unsure. A guy called Ming runs these scamming enterprises. Be very careful...very very careful. I would recommend avoiding these places completely given severe unprofessionalism and thievery without any remorse.

Loved the place. Small ( 7 room ) property operated by people with smiles. If you are looking for a relaxing break ....try to book this place through MMT. We did it. Though responsiveness is slow but the people man good. We had a confirmed booking but the receptionist took some time to retrieve the same. Maybe the delay was from MMT. The rooms are old fashioned and gives the feel of homestay. The washroom needs improvement. The shower is not that great and you have to juggle the hot and cold knobs to get the right temperature mix. We stayed in the Room 101 for 2 days and 102 for 1 day. Room 102 is not good. Privacy is missing on either side ( outside and the reception area ) The washroom had a fowl smell , reason for which the house keeping could not decipher. Management should take a note. Breakfast is home style and served nicely and with proper attention. The ginger tea we had was refreshing and mood uplifter. The place is around 20-25 minutes walk from the Police Bazar circle and its a pleasure to commute in good weather. Overall 3.5/5 is my rating 😊

We booked 2 rooms luxury and classic. The rooms are big and spacious. Good room service and decent and simple breakfast..overall neat and clean property. Bathrooms are pretty big and clean. Friendly staff...small but nice outdoor seating. Things to watch out for : Good locality but It's in a narrow lane which tends to get crowded especially during office hrs. The entrance to the property is a steep incline...so getting ur vehicle inside is not very easy u need to be a skilled driver. If you have elderly parents might be a challenge to step out incase u wanted to take a walk nearby. The rooms for some reason don't have 2 many charging points. They don't have a running kitchen which means they only serve breakfast. Lunch and dinner you will have to order food...and in a place like Shillong you don't have to many who deliver...we had a choice between cafe Shillong which is their own cafe in the city and Domino's pizza...

It was great staying here. The staff were quite informative and arranged everything for us. The food is outstanding because it is from the famous parent Cafe Shillong - Cafe. The room was spacious and clean and nice.

This review can not be explained in a few words because everyone of the hotel is so nice that can not be written in words. Specially the person Ratneswarji is very good by his hospitality, his attitude, his always smiling face etc.The property is a heritage one but maintained so classicly and with so cleanliness. I visited Shillong from 1st October to 5th October 2019.Above all it is a homestay but only problem is you never can have lunch or dinner as per your choice as they only arrange breakfast and as per your order they can take the only some Chinese high priced dishes otherwise you have to take your meal from the restaurant which is a very tough job.
