The hotel is on prime location near Dhabkheti & has parking place inside. The garden inside the hotel is very nice & has a good atmosphere. Room rates are affordable price. Room service is quite slow but food are good.
Only the location of the hotel is good but rest is not ok. Staff is not cooperative, only manager can speak hindi or english rest of the staff do not know both the above languages. Beds are very old and make sounds. Ventilation is not proper. I had a very bad experience here. For couples they are providing twin bed. When asked for double bed, they shifted me to a very bad accommodation. Since it was online booking through operator, I had no other option.
Nice place to stay with family. Rooms are nice and cozy. Cottage rooms are best. Decent garden at front. They can improve the food quality. The service and food is not that good. Over all good experience .
I have always stayed in this place. It is really worth the price you pay not just for the room but everything else including the food. It has a very spacious garden too to relax. The ceiling is quite high and does not give a claustrophobic feeling. The rooms are spacious. The food is good to very good and is made as per your choice. As you step out of the main gate, there is a small shopping place where you can get everything you may need.
The cottage rooms are cheaper than the guest house rooms . Rs 2000 compared to Rs 3500. The hotel is located in a quiet place. Food can be ordered and service is quick. Staff are polite. Rooms are provided with heaters.
The best place to stay in shillong. The cootage rooms of eldorado are better than the rooms in the guest house. It is recommended to book the cottage. From the staff to the food, everything is great. It is difficult to find such a room at this rate.
Stayed here for 3 days Its best place to stay if you are planning to visit cherrapunjee, dawki etc. Its not exactly in the center of the city, and not too far as well.Overall its in a nice location. It was a lot of traffic in shillong everyday evening, so we didnt use our car to go around to have food. We just walked a bit, and we found lot of hotels to eat, Rooms and bathrooms were clean. All basic facilities were provided like charger sockets, tv, hot water etc. we didnt ask for heater, it was cold but manageable. No complaints on that. We had breakfast only once here, and it was decent. We bought our own dinner from outside, which they allowed by providing plates and spoons. Overall its a nice place.
One is that the word "guest house" is utterly misleading. If it is a house where one keep one's guests how does one charge money to one's guests? Anyways,in short, they do not check the rooms before hand for any faults - toilet flush, no hangers in the wardrobe, until request made. 1. Little to no natural light in the room. 2. Lightning in bathroom too dim. 3. No 24*7 restaurant/pantry, no dinner order after 7pm, they wouldn't give you an tea after 7.30 pm. 4. Rickety chairs. 5. Embarrassing display of "House Rules" inside the room. 6. They remind you to check out before 12 noon, as if they think that you've never been to a hotel before. 7. No room heater/air conditioning. 8. 1700 rupee per night.
Eldorado guess house located in Dhankheti is in center place to stay and roaming Shillong. Nearby to police bazar, Shillong peak etc. Best part is it's warm behaviour for their staff members. They help me in getting few accessories what I forgot to carry. Food quality great. Restaurant staff also supportive thou different management. Fire place just for show as not allowed. Room Hitter, Geyser, soap, samphoo available. Rest u get your own. Restaurant rating- Chicken momo 10/10 Mashrum soup 10/10 Veg sandwich 7/10 Chicken soupy noodles 7/10 Fruit salad 7/10 Tea (BF tea nice but brunch tea waste due different maker)
Nice cosy place to stay in busy town of Shillong. Rooms resemble old hill station bunglow type with nice lawn in the front. Restaurant serves food at reasonable price. Staffs are nice and taking care of any requirement from guests. If I visit Shillong again I would prefer to stay here.
