I called their staff to enquire about the wedding venue charges. At first, the dude said he'd tell me in a while, but then made me wait for a long time and didn't answer, I cut the call thinking I would get a callback, but instead, I called up a second time, when I asked him about the charges, he rudely replies Aap WhatsApp korigi tabhi toh bataunga? And cuts the call. Where does this behaviour fit in the hospitality industry? If this were an ITC hotel, this staff in question would be jobless by now. Utterly cheap, disgusting, rude and uncivilized behaviour. I'll never visit this cheap place with a cheap staff.

This hotel has one of the worst behaviour staff and it would be seem like they are going to pay for your stay and food and instead of a descent hosting, the guests have to please the ego of the staff in order to stay there. I have never come across such horrible staff behaviour and they surely need mentoring to treat people well since they are not guided well for that

The resort is strategically located near Umiam lake with beautiful views...Cottages are spacious and food is ok . Overall good experience. Food os ok . Staffs are friendly . Ample parking space available

It is a government run property located on the banks of Umiam Lake. The cottage rooms are big but bathroom is very small. Poor maintenance of rooms and bathroom. Restaurant serves good food but delivery time is much longer. So always pre-book your food before as they take quite a long time to serve food.

Location is its only Advantage. It has beautiful and pleasant surroundings. Rooms are simple and good. Our electric Kettle did not work. So were many Plug points. We were two of us in the room and had to charge our phones one by one. No body picked up the phone at reception at 0630 hrs. Went to the kitchen to be told that hot water would be available after the kitchen staff comes. Food at the banquet was OK. DOnt think they can make rotis in tandoor.

We thought we will stay for 1 night as the location is not in proper shillong. But we stayed for 3 nights. All rooms are having great view of Umium lake. Only sound available here is bird's chirping. Only drawback is food. Very big property....

We, about 44 of our batchmates (now 50+ in age, at very senior positions in government and private companies) stayed in this beautiful resort on 15th and 16th Feb, 2020. Deepak, the manager, took very good care of us- right from allocation of room to planning the right cousine for the events. He was always there, when we need him. View is beautiful, services were great and the staffs were always ready to help with a smile. We all left with sweet memories.

On 15th and 16th of Feb,20 around 50 of our batch mates from Assam Engineering College ,1986 batch had a get together at OLR. The ambience and natural beauty in & around the OLR is mesmerizing. The hotel rooms were very clean. The service lead by Mr. Dipak was excellent. He took care of all our needs for 2 days personally. Food was also very tasty. Assam Engineering College 1986 batch organised a two-day get- together for around 50 alumni at Orchid Lake Resort on 15 and 16 February 2020. Rooms, food and hospitality were par excellence, making the occasion memorable.

The location is amazing and most of the rooms offer views of the lake from the Balcony itself. It is very spacious. But I think the construction of the property is old. Food was tasty and the portions were huge.
