We booked 03 rooms for 07 guests with 100% payment via booking.com. But the rooms are originally booked by OYO. Whatever, after our team arrived at Shillong at evening, the hotel said no room booked for us. That was Eid Vacation time, fully occupied most of the Hotels at Shillong. How horrible for us that night, no body can't imagine.

Sanctum Guest House is a very nice place to stay in Shillong and is near to the Bethany Hospital and Nagaland House (around 50m uphill from these landmarks). This a guest house and not a hotel so the stay would be more like staying at home. There are 8 rooms – 4 on first floor and 4 on second floor – and if you are alone or a couple you should book room 7 on 2nd floor as it is sun facing. The rooms are small and cosy. There are 2-3 caretakers who take care of your breakfast and dinner. I had booked a single room @INR 2,200 per day inclusive of free wifi, breakfast and taxes for 3 days. The booking for this guest house can be done through phone number 9436312941 or fionakhyriem@gmail.com as they are not active on travel portals. If you are coming from Guwahati airport you can take the government bus from the airport to Paltan Bazar bus stand (Rs. 90 per head) and from Paltan Bazar to Police Bazar bus stand Shilliong (shared cab which takes around INR 400 to 500). If you are looking for sightseeing you can either take the help of caretakers at guest house to book the cab or you can also contact Mr. Rai (9615915811) who offers nice cabs with drivers. The day cab package for Cherrapunji, Shillong View Point, Elephant falls, Mawsmai Caves.. would take around INR 3,000 to INR 3,500.…

The property is good thought location is a bit off from the city center. The rooms were nice & well maintained. View from the rooms were also great. They also have food facility and food was good too. It was a good stay.

The location and view from the room was way too beautiful. The distance of the hotel from city center is more but the atmosphere compensates it all. Everything was pleasant and fun. The food was amazing.
