What we liked - the resort is a little away from the city in an open, peaceful part of Shillong. The property, with ample parking, is very clean, the rooms are large (we used to roll out our yoga mats every morning) and the staff is courteous and helpful. Bistro 16, their restaurant is spacious and on certain evenings when many guests turn up from outside, one has the option of sitting on the lawn in front. The well stocked bar is impressive. The restaurant serves good multi cuisine meals besides a sumptuous breakfast offering. The restaurant could consider adding variety for hotel guests staying for long periods. What we didn't like - umm, that's a tough one....

Beautiful property in gated area Stayed here in suite room , the Windermere inn is situated outside Shillong city around 10 kms outside which is the only drawback , being 10 kms outside the city adds about one and half hour of your daily commute during sightseeing, The property has beautiful views from the balcony and terrace They serve a modest breakfast which could do with improvements, room service is quick and serves delicious lunch and dinner All the employees are friendly and eager to be of help . Like to make a special mention of the employees at the reception especially young Nomi . She is very helpful and ever smiling . Right from the beginning when we couldn’t locate the place to end she was there to make our stay in Windermere a pleasant one

Very comfortable pleasant stay with family. Had booked 2 rooms both rooms spacious , clean. Had no view as on ground level.Easy check in process. Restaurant had helpful staff with good service & tasteful food. The chef Mr Rajiv was extremely helpful with my mother's dietary requirements as she was not well. Ms.Kim & Ms Suk gave service with a smile,small requests in housekeeping were accomadated. Overall a memorable stay.

Lovely property, friendly staff. very nice colonial style architecture. Away from the city, with views of the city twinkling at night. Nice options at the bar as well. The rooms were spacious. The food is average, but you can absolutely eat meals in the city and come here once your day is done.

Had a bad experience right from checkin till we checkout. None of the rooms have a good view though the hotel is on top of the hills and promoting a good 5 star hotel. Breakfast was pathetic. No recreation facilities like, indoor games, pools etc. Far away from the basic market. If you are going with kids, please be careful. Kids will get bored. During our visit there was a shooting going on and entire shoot crew team occupied the front entrance of the room and converted in their dining area. Restaurants was closed. I would like to give a 2 star rating because of my experience and my 13 year old son got really bored here as there is nothing to do as family time.

This was really a great place to stay, away from the crowded city. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good amenities. The staff was always smiling and courteus and helpful. Food was good at breakfast and dinner.

The property is located in a quiet area on a hillside.The rooms are very comfortable with all modern amenities.The staff is courteous and obliging.We enjoyed the breakfast & dinner at the modern restaurant which had outside seating too.A clean & relaxed atmosphere makes this place a welcome sight.

Stayed for a night. The view from the room very nice. Morning breakfast simple but tasty.. rooms and amenities were excellent. Service was also prompt. Food was very tasty. There was a marriage reception going on which caused a little inconvenience as guests kept moving late into the night.

Excellent stay at winders with courteous staff. Polite and always smiling team. What a delicious food, value for money. A bit expensive hotel but you will get quality service , morning break fast. Ambiance, view are beyond expectations. We stay at Windermere three night and fully enjoy Shillong, Dawki, Cherrapunji. Rooms are spacious and neat and clean. No mark for deduction. Just go and stay. Enjoy nature with Windermere smiling young team.
