I landed in Shillong with a booking that got cancelled and was searching for a hotel that was good to stay at, had electricity (heavy load shedding leaves the area without electricity for most of the time.) I was there for work and needed my laptop to be connected all the time.
Not only was the hotel good at the basic necessities, the staff was warm, happy and helpful. Forthcoming in understanding my likes and dislikes and making things work accordingly. (I need my tea made a certain way and the kitchen understood exactly how I’m 1 go.) all in all, a great stay. Contact Alphanahar (the front desk officer) for a custom stay. She was really helpful.

It’s located on the busy junction of Shillong and the entire third floor is the hotel. Parking is very bad and the jam packed hilly roads around this hotel is unbearable. Even though the rooms are quite big enough the other facilities like wifi, fan and hot water( you have to wait for 15 minutes after turning the tap) are problems. There is no AC here. The noisy broke cooler is available. The front office and food are ok.

Stayed at M Crown for 3 days with friends. We were very happy with the hospitality and cleanliness. Staff is very good especially girls in the restaurant like Junedarine Rumnong and Sumi and wanlam who are always ready to serve u with bright smile. Even the bell boys I mean room service boy Monbhalang anytime u call there with a smile. Thank for suggesting to stay at M Crown 😁

Most important part of hotel stay is hygiene. Housekeeping quality to maintain bedsheets, towel, quilt etc.. when we asked for change - staff also complaining owner not giving chemical to clean. Quilt is not good enough for Shillong cold days. Overall very uncomfortable say.

This is a hotel that beats all I have experienced in my business life of over 20 years. At a steep price of Rs 7500 a night for a double + extra bed we got the worst experience of our lifetime.
1. The hotel is on an extremely busy road. The constant sound of honking will destroy your peace.
2. No special amenities in the bathroom not even a hair dryer.
3. No functional air conditioning so you get a cooler that barely helps. Try sleeping in humid conditions because thr cooler doesn't help but makes it worse.
4. No functional laundry to get your clothes washed
5. Room service doesn't take orders later than 9 pm.
I have stayed in remote locations in India but at far better hotels and far cheaper price. This was more expensive that the Hyatt where I am staying in now.
I also organized a conference here for 12 people..conference room also had no air conditioning. But the price was the most expensive I have paid for a conference so far.
The hotel is obviously ripping off people who have no knowledge of other options. I would not give this beyond a 2 star hotel room because even a 2 star hotel would give you a good room with air conditioning.
Can never recommend this property to anyone.

Very very bad hotel I will never recommend this hotel to anyone hotel is located at such a place where you know even bus is not entering way to carry our own luggage the switches are not working and napkins are not provided. I will never recommend this hotel to anybody this is on 3rd floor don't feel like it is in the market but not so good location a service is also not good people are rough to talk with.

The hotel promotes itself as one of the best in Shillong. It’s a SCAM! It is by no means the best hotel in Shillong. It isn’t even a 4 star hotel. While I agree that the design of the hotel rooms and the lobby is very good, the management is extremely poor. It is a 1 star management in a 3 star hotel! It is not a 4 star hotel neither are the facilities great. They don’t provide basic things like - bathroom mat, toiletries, water bottles, etc. The bathroom stinks! There is seepage in the rooms and even the beddings don’t look clean. The AC doesn’t work and they don’t have ceiling fans! They provide a standing fan for a double room and ask us to put it in rotate mode. Coming to breakfast - it’s the worst breakfast you can get in Shillong. It’s a joke! The poha is oily and salty. The sambar is spoilt. The fruits are cold and sour. The only good thing is bread butter! The front desk staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Finally, there are frequent power cuts! And the fans don’t work! The bathroom lights also don’t work in case of a power cut. There is no power backup so the generator power takes some time to kick in. It’s not a good hotel and should be completely avoided by travellers who can afford to pay for a 3 star or a 4 star hotel.

We stayed there for 3 days in June 2022. We paid Rs. 8250 per day for our stay. The service was nowhere near the price we paid. Same breakfast all three days, bathrooms had the look of a old government guest house with window broken and poor lighting and flooring. Nothing in the food menu stood out . HArdly any healthy options in the menu.
However, the staff was very helpful and polite. They make the bad facilities bearable. But owners should are just taking advantage of the central location and lack of hotels in Shillong and are not providing quality space.

We checked in on 27 Dec but from check in issues started .
No hot water, not cleanliness in rooms, food quality poor,
And attitude of staff was absolutely rude and hopeless .
No responsibie person to respond and resolve the issue.
From watchmen to reception everyone is not interested attending any issues and help guest.
Only one person at reception attended us after raising voice.
Food very less spread with poor quality and no taste.
Had to wait for 15 mins for rice and dal to be replenished in buffet.
Think before you book.

We stayed for three nights and got excellent service from all the staff. Rooms are very clean and the food is so delicious overall interior design is extremely beautiful. Jundarine Rumnong is very smart, professional and very kind towards us and she takes care very well to the guest.
