It has been the third time visiting the hotel in 3 yrs. I stayed in super deluxe room category, It's completely nostalgic to experience the comfort and good food especially the food quality has improved over time, one does not feel bored of having same stuff everyday, there would be something special for every one I can vouch for. I am thankful to Vandana madam for ensuring, making my daughter's birthday special on valentine's Day with cake and other beautiful balloons, again surprising us with good hospitality and genuiness.
Other things I may quote, inclusive of maintaining decent interiors, games, musical shows, magic show, housie karoake, discotheque, swimming pool and other entertainment stuff which continue to charm.
Although each one of us has their own expectations to make our vacation special with good stay/good food, I would definitely recommend a stay in this hotel and experience good hospitality and services.
Other things I may quote, inclusive of maintaining decent interiors, games, musical shows, magic show, housie karoake, discotheque, swimming pool and other entertainment stuff which continue to charm.

This is my 5th stay at Kumar plaza.
room, service,location ,food & amenities ( like disco, pool,indoorgames) all are very good.also they are arranging some programs in evening like musical games, housie game ,magical show , fire & juggling show.

Good service and well design infrastructure. If you planning to go Matheran must stay in Kumar plaza. Swimming Pool, Dance Club, Magic show, Karaoke etc. Room Stayed in Super deluxe AC room - room was spacious and we'll maintained, toilet was clean. Bedsheets, pillow cover, and bed were clean, little light fluctuation experienced but it was well backed up by generator.

Swimming pool is the super star. It was very clean even when there are trees around. Very safe for kids.
The rooms gives you a feeling of log cabin with soothing light system. The place is quite with out any noise so you can relax without any outside disturbance. The best part is i got an upgrade in Exec room whose pic is not available on Kumar's website. The staff is well mannered and courteous. Lots of activity in the evening at the hotel. Food was good but some of the non vegetarian dishes were not suited to the cold evenings in Matheran. I suggest some thing which will be more kids friendly. Table Tennis, Chess and Darts keep you occupied. Large discotheque.

Humble Caring Staff. Food and Room was good & hygenic. Covid precautions were well setup. Well maintained room interiors. Uniquely we also got buffet meals served as ala carte to room as precautionary measures

Many thanks to Kumar Plaza Team for a splendid stay at Matheran. Very well located, close to the market and railway station. Self-motivated staff, always eager to help. Clean quiet spacious rooms & excellent house keeping. The buffet meals at the restaurant were simply fantastic, with lots to please almost everyone's palates! The hotel engaged its residents on both days of the weekend with fun games, music, DJ disc, magic show, karaoke, special performances. The kids recreation area & the discotheque in the huge dining hall were just aptly placed to allow us haggled parents to unwind a bit, yet keeping an eye on our musketeers :-p The welcome drink and confectionery for kids in the room, were small gestures which made us feel very welcomed. Could we have asked more on a holiday! Keep it up Kumar Plaza!

Location wise it's very good.
Foods varieties and quality need to improve especially non veg foods and breakfast which are all buffet spread.
Room prices are much more on the higher side.
Pools need to be cleaned and it's high time they should renovate their rooms also.
At one time it was one of the best and it was our family favourite hotel in Matheran.
But now no more.
I swear nowadays Homestay is much better and well organised service wise with home cooked authentic food than these so called star hotels.
Owner of Kumar Plaza.... please wake up and focus on these issues bcoz nowadays there are many options available.

This trip was really needed for our friends in this covid situations & as informed By Vandana Khatwani (Co-ordinater) that this trip will be a memorable for us. She is very Co-Operative during all trip. We have stayed at Kumar Plaza Matheran for 2 days & it was worderfull experience. Food was mouth watering, Rooms are also cleaned all stars were very polite. Cake was also ordered by us which was very tasty.
We will definitely visit here again.

We vistited this hotel last month. The staff was very good also quality sevice & Great food with unlimited quantity with "Quality" food , also the rooms were cleaned and comfort bed. it was a fantastic weekend with family on 31st Dec 2021 to 2nd Jan 2022 & Specially thanks my "Big Bro" Mrs.Manoj Rao for giving suprise booking for us in this amazing "HOTEL KUMAR PLAZA..."
