Alexander heritage and rainforest resort situated in matheran is best place to visit with your family and friends. Situated 20 mins walk from the Matheran Market, this place is good heaven for vegetarians. They have two types of stay, Cottage rooms which cost around 6 to 7 thousands on weekends and heritage rooms which cost around 12 to 13k on weekends with 5 times food, including lunch, tea, snack time, dinner and next day breakfast. They also have tents facilites which cost you around 2k with meals. On weekends you will get tons of activities like archery, movie plan, watching sunrise and also stargazing, barbeque setup also happens. If you have time, you can also go and check out Alexander Point which is just few walks away from place. Rooms are quite spacious and best part of the both rooms are mirrors, I just loved it. Service is also outstanding. No complaints over anything. In evening when the light lits-up, the place looks more beautiful. You should definitely visit this place and enjoy the food and service.…
I was invited there as a blogger to review the property amd share my experience. Well, it was HORRIBLE! The place is extremely unhygienic. Everywhere you see, there is kachra lying around, even outside the rooms, dirty bedding, damaged washrooms, no hot water, even dirtier towels, the whole night we kept on sneezing because of the dusty blanket and bedding. Food: extremely average, other amenities: none As checked online, they are charging quite a huge sum for such average rooms. I was extremely tired when i reached there and had no energy left to argue over anything, so checked out early in the morning the next day. Just had lunch there as I reached, no other meals. The Social Media and the reviews here shows the heritage room which is more like a photography prop. I wonder of anyone ever book that room. Also, I am surprised how come all the bloggers who are regularly visiting here are not even bothering to share the true picture here? Having said that, I don't suggest the place at all! I also wonder why would anyone add "Heritage" in the name? There is nothing even close to heritage here. In the real world, i won't pay more than 500₹ for such rooms. It's that basic.. Extremely poor and even badly maintained.. …
Firstly the hotel had promised us for ac room but when we arrived at the hotel i think the owner said that there are no ac rooms and we did not promise you for ac rooms as the discussion was done on call regarding the ac rooms after a while we saw some more people complaining regarding the same as they were also promised for ac rooms. Secondly, the food was pathetic I would really never say this to the food but i have to because it was really bland and low quality. One could make it. Thirdly, the rooms were very unhygienic, no source of hot water in the bathroom. We were also facing a lot of electricity issue. Staff wasn’t friendly and was kind off rude, service wasn’t up to the mark Charges were more then overall expectations. Live music was little sorted and the hotel is very very far and away from other hotels and market. Kindly visit other hotels wouldn’t recommend one to waste in here…
I generally don't post reviews but here i was compelled to just to help others take a well informed decision. Just to keep it crisp the cons outweigh the pros & mind you i am not so finicky: a. Absolutely pathetic value for money. The cottages being rent out although with meals for 5k is absolutely unbelievable. Cottages are dingy and rubbish. A lodge offers way better rooms at one-third the price b. It's no way a resort or a hotel, an old uninhabited place in tatters & shambles (I am not exaggerating) has been simply used as is. No recreation, walls outside need paint badly, there is junk lying all around. In essence, it looks like a junkyard TBH c. The tent rooms have common washrooms but the washrooms don't have soaps or soap solution which is a basic need while there is just a tap to take a bath but not bucket or mug d. There was no DJ as we were told and the speaker used was terrible with torn and tattered sound. When i asked that you guys highlight your evening experience with Barbeque, bonfire and DJ then deploying such a speaker is a sin. To which i was told the speaker has gone bad due to rain moisture. How lame especially wen u charging a bomb for an ugly cottage. e. The torn music at it loudest was being played late into the night disturbing sleep till atleast 2-3 am & was put on replay at 7ish early morning again waking people before the preferred time. f. There was no bonfire either & bbq was burnt kinds. Why would you use potatoes in bbq if you cant cook them well. g. Water supply in washroom was poor and inconsistent while toilet seat was broken h. There are no worthwhile activities as being claimed. In nutshell if you wish to experience a junkyard which is screaming for recreation & renovation at exorbitant tariffs then please go ahead. I am seriously stunned to see high ratings which i believe is a place for youngsters if they don't really give two damns about above shortcomings. Book at your own peril :)…
