Very shady and unhygienic place. Rooms have ventilation problems............,.....Look for another option next to this place. The guy who is coordinating near the hotel is not co-operative............... Please avoid visiting this place....................
First of all, I want appreciate staff for Service and Food Quality. Food was nice and delicious (Pure Veg). But, when it comes to stay. It was terrible. I paid 2500 per room where I did not get hot water in eve (only in morning), I did not get wifi where it was included in package. I am giving one star extra only and only for Food and Service.
I often visit Matheran and always stay at this hotel. It's a really good budget hotel and makes for a wonderful stay. The rooms are clean and cozy. It's a little away from the main market but not much. Anyways you go to Matheran to enjoy walking. The Gujarati food is amazing and very delicious.
Went to matheran twice Once in 2014. It was unseason and weekday. They gave a good room at 700 per night which was a superb steal. We loved the swings and seesaw played some table tennis. We ate out so dont know food. 2nd time went one year later, Went straight to the same hotel. but in season so we got a small room for 1000, which we dint like much The hot water is provied in buckets it was so cold in december, The blankets were also cold and not enough. Dint enjoy the 2nd time but matheran is my fav so ignored abt it
I visited the hotel after a gap of 15 years as my taste buds yearned for the lip smacking delicacies which we had in year 2000..I must say that I wasn't let down..the food is still the same ..vegetarian though.. A Gujarati treat.. Hotel has been renovated as well with family rooms ..owner Mukesh Dave stays in the premises and gives personal attention to all.. A budget hotel with value for money...
Problem is, most hotels in Matheran cannot accommodate foreigners. Therefore, if you are not blessed with a navy blue passport, you might end up there. Here's what to expect: After heavy haggling, you can knock the initial laughable ₹2000 to the mildly amusing 1200. For this, you are getting: Mouldy walls Dirty bathroom No towel No soap No toilet paper No shower Whatever your home, it will certainly appear most happy after you get back there from this sorry little hole.
guys i dnt know abt the past but i visited the hotel last week with new rooms newly colored awsum gujrati food nd management.. guys good place for couples rates was in my budget my weekend was just awsum and the credit goes to the management of the hotel will always wish to visit this hotel in my life
This was the worst place Ive stayed at. Rooms were dirty like toilets, and the toilets were even worst, dont have a word to describe it, looked like noone stayed in this place for years together. Had to stay as we had already paid an advance :-(
The rooms need a wash they are dirty walls the bed covers are full of fungus no points for guessing the rooms are full of bugs and the bathroom had frogs too. if u are up for an adventure do go!! the manger was rude was trying to dump some super dirty rooms and while settling the bill was yelling at top of his voice when we were trying to have a question about it. Sadly we did pay an advance so couldnt change the venue :( complete put off.
