We stayed at Kabbe Holidays for four days from 19th to 22nd January 2018 and loved every moment so much that it was hard to leave. Everything about Kabbe Holidays is to love . The location is breathtakingly beautiful with views that will stay with you forever. The rooms and the property is elegant and cosy both. A beautiful blend of traditional Coorg architecture and contemporary aesthetics elevates the charm of this homestay. The rooms are spotless and the bed and bath linen too. We slept like babies and woke up completely refreshed every morning and yes you even get your morning cuppa to the room if you need it. The food is delicious and sumptuous and Vidya makes sure that there is both Coorg Cuisine as well as dishes from other regions each cooked to perfection. Vidya and…
Nice cottages, within walk-able distance to the hills and/or walking trails, lush green surroundings and great food (at the homestay). It's definitely a repeat-visit place if one loves nature and walking around hills (trails)... Also, reg. the road mentioned in many reviews - I drove down to Kabbe Holidays last week and the roads are excellent. Concrete slabs have been laid down and its a very pleasant drive to the homestay. It took me approx. 6 hrs from Bangalore to reach Kabbe holidays. Basic directions present on homestay webpage are more than enough to reach the place...
We chose Kabbe after reading a lot of reviews online. The one thing I was concerned about was the approach road which was planned to be completed before my visit. Unfortunately, it didn't happen due to various reasons so we had an interesting pick-up from the main road, walk 200m on a road under construction with the luggage and then on Dilip's pick-up truck. An alternate route was available but avoided due to slushy roads after recent rains. Kabbe holidays is a really offbeat destination and it is really lovely to see the place amidst the hills and enjoy the natural surroundings. Vidya and Dilip are very friendly hosts and we were able to connect on several topics with them. There are only 4 rooms in total and we had 3 of them so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The…
Kabbe holidays is an excellent spot for travellers wanting to explore a place, culture, people and food. The hosts and owners Dilip and Vidhya made us feel like we were at a home away from home. This is not for the resort types touristy crowd but for the adventure seeking, explorers. Totally recommended!
I went to Kabbe Holidays in Diwali 2016 . its a beautiful place and Mr. Dilip is so helpful and beautiful home stay ... he also arranged milk tetrapacks for my kids on my request. the view is awesome and the cottages are well maintained. i just loved the place.. Simply Superb and i loved the local food also.... the cook over there made lovely food. thanks to my sister who suggested me this place... :) The best place to enjoy nature... calm and green...
The homestay is in the midst of a coffee estate, about 280 km from Bengaluru via Virajpet. You can go via Madikeri too. The place is very pretty. The rooms are neat and the toilets are clean. We had been there in March, but the nights were cool. The hospitality and food was awesome. The four rooms can host 10 persons, but if you can adjust, some more can fit in. Vidya and Dilip are very good hosts.
My daughter, her friend and I had a short, but memorable stay at this great homestay. Vidya and Dilip are great hosts and the place is run like a dream. The staff is superb and the rooms are well furnished and extremely well kitted out. The food is awesome and absolutely fresh and wholesome. An early morning trek into the rolling hills was the icing on the cake. The views are tremendous and the waterfall close by is extremely picturesque. The road to the homestay is under maintenance and thus you would need to inform them of your arrival time so they could pick you up. Just the place for a family holiday.
Ive been to Coorg many times in the past, this place still managed to blow my mind. You can blindly choose this property to spend a couple of days and will really enjoy it. The views were breathtaking, nature was raw and untouched and the accommodation itself can match up to a 4 star hotel standard. Also the hosts Dilip and Vidya were simply excellent.
Awake to the call of the Barbet and crested Bulbul and the sight of mist covered hills. No net, mobile tower or TV to currupt the pristine natural environment. Take morning walks into the Coffee plantation or just wander along the winding paths to catch a glimpse of fascinating insects, moss covered rocks and tree trunks and beautiful wild flowers . Kabbe Holidays is a paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers. Mr. Dilip, our host accompanied us to hill treks, plantation walks and also took us to a serene mountain stream. His wife, Vidya is a charming hostess whose lively chats added flavour to the delicious meals at Kabbe. I was deeply touched by this very charming couple. God bless them.
We had a short, yet memorable stay at this place. Since the cottages were booked, we took the deluxe room. There's a common verandah for two deluxe rooms, whereas the cottages has private verandahs. The deluxe rooms were well appointed; other than a king-size bed, there is a convertible sofa and fridge. An electric kettle is also provided. Washroom had all the required toiletries and was clean. Hot water is available in the taps & shower. Dilip & family were on an outstation trip when we arrived, but everything was well looked after by the caretaker Muthaiyah. Upon arrival, we were served yummy cakes, coffee/tea and vada. Muthaiyah customised the menu according our food preference; this was quite important for us since we had a child with us. Food was prepared fresh, and was…
