We visited this place in Oct-2021. Our stay at this resort was very peaceful and memorable. It was a festival time so only one person Balbir was there to take care of us but he is one man army and performed all his duties perfectly. We really liked the food prepared by Balbir. My kid and wife really liked this beautiful place. If you are looking for a peaceful stay away from city then this is the place to go. We will visit once again sometime in future.
*SERVICE* was AVERAGE at most, but not as good as one expects at a Boutique Hotel. 1. Welcome drinks were served after half an hour of our arrival. 2. Small amenities like dental kit, Bathroom slippers were not provided (Later they provided Bathroom slipper on asking for it). 3. The place experienced a vast amount of rainfall that day, but no umbrella were provided by the staff. 4. After a power cut in the night, the staff were to be reminded to restore the power, they took a good half an hour to start the faulty genset. 5. Due to the power cut, we are forced to bathe in cold water in that chilly weather. 6. Food was not as good as expected. *LOCATION* is good, but no Visible signboards are provided en-route, so first time visitors may find a bit difficult to reach there. The design and the architectural style was the HIGHLIGHTING feature of the hotel All in all, place lacks the basic tenets of a BOUTIQUE HOTEL.…
We had booked for 2 nights stay, wish we could have extended by another 2nights. If you are seeking a beautiful place up in the mountains, with absolute peace and serenity, this is the place for you. We reached pretty late in the evening after an arduous 9hour drive, but since we had informed earlier, hot dinner was ready on arrival. Secure parking is provided. The beauty of the place we could see next morning. The view from the kothi of the majestic snow capped mountains in front, rising mightily above the valley and the Beas river is simply breathtaking. The location of Himalayan Kothi Kai's is it's USP. It is situated about 3km drive up from the valley in the village of Kais. We had all our meals here, and the food was simply delicious. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but that is to be expected in a boutique property as this. Staff was courteous and very helpful. However, some small attention to detail in the room (a light not working, no spoon in the tea/coffee arrangement) would make it just perfect. And perhaps a bit more light in the room. Overall, we are glad we stayed at this property, and would hope to come back again for the magical experience.…
I had an awesome stay at an amazing view good hospitality and great food. I would recommend anyone going towards Kullu should try and vist Kais. Its such a peaceful place, time just flies in beautiful Himalayan backdrop.
Kothi Kais is situated in a great location which offers wonderful views. It is infact a small building on hill top with 5 rooms which was constructed using the local traditional building techniques. The location is very good - with an elevated place with great views and with a apple orchard in the backyard hill. The construction of the building is on local kath kuni architecture which makes the building look pretty. We booked a deluxe room but we didint like the upper room which has a lower roof and so we decided stay in the ordinary room which is on ground floor. The tariff is definitely on the higher side and we also felt the food cost is quite on the higher side too. Go there to enjoy the natural beauty of the location and dont expect much hospitality. But we felt that for moderately higher tariff, they should give more focus on hospitality…
