The hotel was very considerate and warm to the team of 22 people including children, it was a crowd Controll at the lobby, hallway, lift and above all the dining area.
The f&b team did an amazing job taking care of us, nothing was spared! From children to toddler food requests to demanding members. Everything went smooth amidst the havoc we created, no complaints or unwillingness from the team to go beyond means. A special thanks to Khush Dubey for always remembering us from our previous visits, Prateek and Jhanu for their personal involvement in every of our needs and shifts. The team, pradip, Lima, Arihant, prasanjeet, Rajiv, Bhupan, the guy who speaks nagamese.. few names im forgetting here, thank you all for the excellent set up and services and involvement, This means a lot and my regards to you all for the same. Jahangir and Maity, really loved their take on food... the selection and rotation, above all their physical appearances to see how it’s going. The F&B wins this foodie family’s vote in this staycation.
The housekeeping team were excellent in managing the six rooms back to back, thank you so much team, sorry we couldn’t have much interaction given it was filled with children creating mess back to back.
The courteous reception team, thank you for the warm reception and flag off, a special thanks to Miss lumi, a very smart and interactive lady with good leadership quality.

Taj never disappoints you with luxury, services, comfort and hygiene. Certainly one of the best properties in Guwahati. The area is slightly away from the city center but the connectivity is good. Since the hotel was overbooked the hotel staff was kind and gracious enough to accommodate us to suites. Special mention needs to be made for Lumi who was our attendant and looking at the kids that were accompanying us she provided us upgrades for both the rooms for which we had bookings with the clear intention of not disappointing any of the kids. The hotel suites were one of the finest rooms that i have seen in recent times with one living room and decent size bedroom which can accommodate one king size bed and one extra bed.
The restaurant is a multi cuisine restaurant and the quality and quantity of the food is amazing. The chef deserves full compliments for providing such a wide array of dishes which caters to all the class of people including kids, senior citizens, teens and adults. The hotel has an amazing swimming pool which has length of 25 mts. The swimming pool is cleaned regularly and the water was clean. The swimming pool area has costume drying machine which was unique to the pool area.
Overall a memorable stay. Keep it up TAJ.

All the teams made me and family feel as at ease as home during our 6-night stay. Be it welcoming, or regular checking on room service needs, or personalized attention to food items; it was an experience worth remembering for long time to come.

We were having an exhibition at Taj Vivanta Guwahati and we wanted a comfortable stay so we chose to stay in this hotel itself. This was one of the biggest mistakes we made!
The standard of service here is below what a 1* would even provide.
We asked for a shower cap because that wasn't there in the toilet, and after calling twice and waiting for 45 minutes we get a tube of shower gel! A double occupancy room has 1 small hand towel and one pair of slippers!!
We had an exhibition there and we were tired so thought of opting for in room dining. There was no menu. After calling the roomservice, they informed us they will be sending us the menu soon. We waited for an hour, there was no menu. We didn't want to ask further, we called for food from swiggy.
When they for arrived we called twice for plates and cutlery, which didn't reach and we called again after 30 minutes. We ate from the disposables itself since we didn't want to call again. The plates reached us after 40 minutes.
The breakfast spread was good but this hotel is totally understaffed and can't manage their guests. After placing an order for Parathas at 3 places, we got it after 30 minutes. Then we asked for pickle which didn't come in the next 10 minutes. The Parathas were cold and we left our food.
In the middle of this one of your staff comes and asks us that how come we are here and eating when we have checked out. We were very well in the system. They don't even double check before humiliating their guests. On exit when we asked them to check again, they said yes you are Mrs Shukla, whereas we were checked with Gupta!!
They have no system in place and don't know how to take care of their guests. We have stayed in 5 stars all over the world and have never faced such an experience. We spoke to the restaurant manager and the operations manager and they just seemed helpless. All they could say was sorry!!!!

The worst experience I've had at a Taj hotel, extremely disappointing and absolutely not the standard you would expect from the Taj. We were not warned about two huge weddings taking place at the hotel meaning it was extremely noisy and busy throughout the night. We were consistently quoted different rates for the rooms without any explanation about the changes. In addition, the hotel property is tired, dirty and just not up to the Taj standard. Service was lacking and there was never anyone at concierge.

I would like to bring to kind notice Vivanta Taj about the horrendous experience endured during my stay there.
It is the duty and responsibility of the hotelier staff to see the upkeep of their customers especially more when the customer is himself VVIP.
The points which I would like to bring to your kind notice are;
Firstly, the staff should be neatly dressed and must ensure no foul odour coming out from their body. Isn't the duty of the hospitality section to see the people they are engaging in the suite are neatly dressed and as well come on duty after baths.
Secondly, during breakfast at the hotel restaurant, was served with an omelette that had a hair strand. How could the people who served breakfast be so careless and not attentive to the details they are doing always?
Thirdly, the services were very very poor. A room where we spent nights had insects that bit us badly. Had rashes all over the body in the morning. Despite complaining to the main desk the service was not performed.
Would like to lodge all this complaint in the strongest of terms with the hope that a proper investigation is carried out to find exactly where the lapse had occurred to provide good services at your hotel.
Please remember that the first impression is the best impression that one should make.

I checked in at 8pm and the room was still not ready. After 30 mins, they gave me the room. The room has a good view of the pool and the hill. The room has bottled water, one time use toiletries (cannot be refilled) and dustbins had a plastic bag. All of which can be avoided in today's world where a hotel like this is expected to be environment friendly. The food was average, try the Pita, at breakfast. The hotel is a minimum of 60 mins drive from the airport. The pickup drop charge from and to the airport are charged decent. Prices may vary when you go. The access card please do not keep it near any electronic gadget or else it will not work. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was well equipped with all modern amenities.

The tourism industry, which has suffered a sudden yet savage blow is counting on this surge in staycations to recover which is good for the hospitality industry and economy of the state. This way we are also promoting local economy. Hotels are almost always running on hundred percent occupancy with more local in house guests checkin.
Vivanta is a fabulous place with a view and lawn for a staycation.

A change is all one desires and it is therapeutic! 24/7 Room service, soaking in the tub , a widespread choice of multi cuisine , unlimited rest , sleep whenever you want wake up whenever you want , read books , play a game , indulge in conversations with new people be it the hotel employees or guests, unwind in the lap of comfort is a luxury during these deplorable times when movement is restricted .
Staycation helps one rejuvenate , it’s exactly the same as a vacation but it ‘s taken in your own hometown.
Mr. Gaurav Sharma, the Operations Manager is brilliantly handling the operations of the entire hotel with a peerless team.
Chef Sudesh, Chef Jahangir, Chef Rana, Chef Ritul, Chef Binay, Chef Jagannath, Chef Boro, Chef Maiti, Chef Biswajeet and Chef Sumalaya are excellent with their culinary skills.
The entire Housekeeping and Front Office are superb in their respective departments.
All the employees of Vivanta Guwahati are fantastic people. God bless them all !

It's around 25 km and takes approximately 45 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Paltan Bazar is also about 20 km.
