It is an average hotel which I guess at some point of time used to be grand. The rooms are unimpressive, sink broken, towel torn and they serve packaged juice as fresh juice in breakfast. Only saving grace is the location.
Old Hotel however Nice ambiance, good staff, cooperative and helpful, limited menu for breakfast, Rooms tidy however little smelly, Tiles flooring not advisable to stay in winter time as very cold climate
Pragati Manor is decent hotel in a good location. Staffs are very coperative & nice behaviour. Hotel rooms are good & food is also good. Complimentary breakfast is very good. We stayed at suite room which is much better, other rooms are not so good.
Came to Guwahati for a day on work and a colleague booked us here. The exteriors did not impress me much. But when I checked in and went to 201, which is a Imperial Club room, I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the room. It has a small living area with a LCD TV. The room had a nice clean comfortable bed and the interior was indeed nice and great. There was another LCD TV in the bedroom. The toilet was new and modern and they had pretty good amenities. They serve alcohol in the room and service is good. Room had well appointed blinds and the AC was cooling very well. The lighting was fantastic. The least I could expect was such a great room and a good nights sleep. Nice!
Located at the hub of the city . Good behaviour from the staff. Rooms were neat and housekeeping was amazing. We had a buffet which was supposed to last till 10.30 pm however I came late and the staff despite the buffet ending bought the food to my room at 11.45 pm . Only con- doesn't have a good view from the window of the room where I was staying at but that is something which cannot be helped at a metro like Guwahati where there are buildings everywhere. 4/5
This was an official trip and booking was done by my Company. Did not get time to explore the hotel due to late night check in and early morning check out. However here are a few observations:- Location is quite convenient, for staying or even exiting Guwahati towards the east or the west. Shower curtain is badly needed in the well equipped wash room. Good breakfast. Dosa is a wrong choice for a South Indian spread. It ought to be either Idli, Wada or Upama. Sauted Vegetables tasted a little stale. Sprouts were good and fresh. Canned Pineapple juice in the land of Pineapples was misplaced. Advice for food (Breakfast) in one line:- Looks better than it tastes. So take smaller portions to start with. House keeping is immaculate. The Manager Mr Raj was very helpful to have left a word behind for my late check in and for arranging a Taxi to the Airport via Maa Kamakhya Temple. The indoor fish pond at the reception is beautiful!…
Pragati Manor is decent hotel. Staffs are very coperative & nice behaviour. Hotel rooms are good & food is also good. Complimentary breakfast is very good. They provided TV channel as per your choice. The top floor rooms are to be renovated like 4th & 5th Floors. I must appreciate towards the caring for the customer.
This is my 3rd time in this property...my last visit in the month of Feb 2019 was not that good except for the food, but this time I visited again in the month of Match 2019 I could see a change from my previous experience...the front desk experience was quite smooth, house keeping did mentain the cleanliness of the room compare to my last room experience..this time my room no was 414 n everything was clean in that room, more over my all time favourite experience in this property is their food....I just love their food. My in room dining experience was very good as the in room server was very very good on terms of hospitality..his name is Mr.Utpal Das...he is very good at his job, I am very much satisfied with his service. Keep it the good work, hope with time you will be flourishing in ur work. My overall experience with Pragati Manor this time was very good. Keep it up n best of luck.I recommend this property to all those woman solo travellers because it's a very safe property.…
Property undergoing renovation of rooms. Stay comfortable but room i got had odd bathroom layout. Pot and shower on same side meaning you cannot bypass wet toilet once taken shower. Also hangar placed such that things ought to become wet while showering
I stayed here because another place of choice in the main city area was unavailable. This hotel is away from the deep crowded area around the railway station. However whether this is a pro or a con will have to judged in view of your need. You will find it tough to go to any market area or Kamakhya from this place. It's just too far and the traffic will make your commute a nightmare. All that said the place is run down. The sockets in the room are outdated, actually there's just one. Yes, that's right. It will also not accept flat pin chargers. the bathroom is small but does the job. Linen is poor quality so people fussy about hygiene should carry their own towels. People inn the lobby are usually not helpful other than one guy. The restaurants in the vicinity if the hotel serve usual fanfare which lacks taste and is overpriced. Wifi in the hotel is as good as non-existent.…
