Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The best thing about our stay was the friendly staff especially the General Manager - Mr Paramjeet Singh (with a smile),so approachable and always there to help you out with any kind of issue and the great location. The vegetarian food in the hotel restaurant was good in terms of taste and hygiene, but there was not enough variety in sea food.We stayed in the deluxe villa's next to the swimming pool , amazing balcony view of sea. Facility of good music while you swim adds fun to it . Villa's are very well made with wood otherwise,the main doors can have digital locks instead of classic latch locks and the bathrooms could use some work though, A bathtub and clean white tiles in every bathroom is a must but I understand it's difficult to bring too many luxurious things all the way to Havelock. They have a good scuba diving club , therefore we didn't waste time to go here and there in order to search for the scuba and snorkeling. The staff was super cool , very friendly & nice . We had great time :) Good place for every one - Kids to Grandparents 🙂

Located close the the Jerry helps in saving time for sure. The staff is very helpful and courteous. We had ordered for Butter Chicken and it was yummy 😋.
The swimming pool is sufficient in length and is very freshening with the family. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous located on the 1st floor with balcony.
The breakfast buffet was a major disappointment. Toasted breaded was kept idle with flies all over it. No fresh juice but packed option. Limited breakfast spread. They apparently ran out of towels so provided only one towel for a family of 4 and even no replacement on the toilet roll as they said not available. Found it strange.
Overall a safe and reliable property to stay at.

The rooms are nice but this is where all positive comments about this place will end.
We had a mini hostage situation with this hotel. Despite having paid the entire hotel charges (82k!) in advance, Aparupa Sands Marina demanded an unannounced 8000rs or else we couldn’t have our rooms! Nor could we have our money back. They also didn’t give our IDs back for quite some time despite asking them several times for it.
These charges were for a gala dinner which we had explicitly refused 3 months back! Just before the day of our arrival, this gala dinner became a “mandatory dinner” and a “hotel policy”. Having coerced us into paying this, the food was TERRIBLE, also the breakfasts the following days. Complete ripoff.
In the room, we also saw this piece of paper with the other hotel policies. (See attached photo)
This hotel has a complete gunda-raj, with several different ways of coercing money out of its guests. Do not recommend staying there!

Dear sir Firstly Regarding the 82k payment and regarding gala dinner charges :- - sir , you paid 82k not to the hotel but to the travel company from where you had booked the hotel , We had informed about mandatory charges at the time of booking also the agent who booked your tour informed us to collect directly from you .we never spoke to you before your arrival at the hotel . The gala dinner charges were for 31st dec new year eve , which is common practice in all big hotels in havelock , it is not just us. We had informed clearly at the time of booking that charges were mandatory . Regarding your money back : As we never collected 82k from you directly we cannot refund directly, you will have to speak to the agency where you paid the money regarding refund Regarding holding ID : We took your id only to photocopy them which is required by law , we will obviously return them to you once we have taken all details , we or any hotel won't and can't hold id's for no reason. I am sorry if you felt other wise Regarding you refused gala dinner : You mentioned you refused gala dinner 3 months ago...again it was not to the hotel but to the travel company, you never spoke to the hotel .. on 31st dec gala dinner is part of the room , it's a bundled package common in many big hotels in havelock. It is mandatory every year on 31st dec . The gala dinner was organized in our beach side lawn with music and food and drinks for all our guests including you . Regarding breakfast I am sorry I you felt breakfast was not upto standards , we will work upon the menu and try to add new more items however our current breakfast offers Tea, coffee, juice, fruits, cereals, bread, cake , choice of egg apart from other Indian , south Indian and western items. Lastly we are extremely sorry if your overall experience went bad , that is never our intention towards our customers, from our end we had given all information prior hand , only then we asked for dues . Again we are very sorry for any discomfort we have caused unintentionally.

We have been travelling in India for more than a month and this was supposed to be our treat. Horrible experience. Location and room is ok. Staff is slow and not helpful. When we arrived they told us they didn't have our reservation and after arguing they magically found a room for us. There were no towels in the room and later we also found out there was no hot water. Their solution to that was a bucket with hot water that my partner and I should have used to washed because the boiler was broken and nothing could be done.When I asked for a refund they made me wait for half an our and then magically they fixed the boiler (the power of asking a refund!). The breakfast is embarassing all dirty and broken. You need to keep asking for items that are not there, even cutelery. We had much better service in guesthouses. Every morning there were guests at the reception asking for the manager to discuss problems, so it was not only us. THIS IS NOT A RESORT. save our money and book somewhere else believe me!

Dear LULU121212 We are very sorry for the bad experience caused by us. The entire island runs on 2G internet connection which becomes very challenging some times. due to a system failure we could not track your reservation before your arrival , so it took us time to get arrange the room, as we weren't aware of arrival thus few basic amenities like towel could have been missing which are otherwise always present. none the less our housekeeping staff should have properly checked the room before giving it you. but i am sure they would not have delayed providing you whatever you needed. we wont intentional switch off our hot water boiler , it was not working and maintenance was trying to fix it, meanwhile we assisted all our guests with hot water in buckets. hot water started coming in taps as soon as the boiler got fixed. For our breakfast we provide , tea, coffee, juices, fruits, milk , toast , muffins/cake , cornflakes along with regular Indian and western breakfast items which change daily along with choice of egg , but keeping your suggestion we will try to add few more items but i am sure our staff would have entertained any other special request/requirement of breakfast . our's is a beach side resort with wooden cottages , we have a restaurant , a bar , lawn and a swimming pool with sea view . we always try our best to deliver good service, we or any hotel wont intentionally spoil anyone's holiday experience however , we are extremely sorry for our mistakes firstly with our reservation team and then with our housekeeping. we value your review and assure you that it has reached to our top management and appropriate actions/steps will be taken thank you.

Let me begin my review with a horrible experience I faced first at Gold India beach resort in Havelock Island, would never imagine one to go through what we faced in "Gold India beach resort". After horrific experience there Mr. Paramjit Singh (GM) came to our rescue and offered us the stay in "Sands Marina" at 11PM. The property is really good and you feel like you are in some boutique resort. Rooms are well maintained and staff is helpful and easily accessible. We had a beach side Candle light dinner session which was well planned and executed by hotel staff. Would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent resort with excellent service, especially Rajuji who looked after our room and security guy who attended to our every request. The resort manager has thought through every need of the traveller and provided all to excellent standard. The location, close to a local market and affordable restaurants made our stay quite comfortable. Also easy availability of affordable transportation (scooters) enabled us to visit various sites on the Island easy. I would recommend this resort with its facilities to anybody.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. All amenities were present. The best part was the service and food. All the staffs are very friendly. All this adds up to a comfortable stay on the Island. The property has its own private swimming pool which looks amazing especially in the evening when the lights are lit.
Couples can indulge in beachside candlelight dinner. It offers a private setup with table decoration and a four-course meal.

Worst for the price. Paid a bomb only to have no flow in shower, jet spray even after continued requests. Food at its worst. The staff has only learnt to say no for all the requests. They want u to check out at 9 am and even an hours extension is not entertained. There are better properties here.

We are very sorry for your bad experience , we generally allow late check outs but unfortunately your dates had back to back arrivals thus so we could not extend you a late check out as we have to get the rooms ready for arrivals that come early in the morning. we are working with our team to check shower issue , once again we are terribly sorry , we would have changed your room but like i mentioned we were completely sold out on those dates its surprising to find that you didn't like our food , however we take your feedback positively and we will work upon the issues you highlighted thank you for your review.

The hotel infrastructure is good. The staff is good , but the food is very bad . Don’t stay here till the chef is replaced. The manager should also be replaced since he doesn’t know A of hospitality.the staff is willing to help but they are directionless as their captain is not qualified to lead the team
