Detailed Reviews
This Resort has totally lack of staff. Resort of 12 to 15 cottages is being managed by only two Female Staff. Reception, cooking Breakfast, Housekeeping and all stuff at resort is managed by only 2 staff. Owner Mr. Girish is very moody person and don't know the anything about hospitality. Late night he sits in garden outside rooms having drinks with his friends talking at very high pitch and above all runs Party songs at full volume. He stopped music after two time request that my kids and family want to sleep at 11 PM. Although rooms at resort are OK and one can have view of beach also at resort. They dont have any dining area and no arrangements for Lunch or dinner. They only serve Breakfast and that also in garden itself. Prices are also not low as compared to services. Overall very average stay and done have much expectations.

This place has a beautiful garden, private beach and spacious rooms but none of it was well maintained. The rooms had all kinds of pests, the bathroom wash basin was leaking. The beach front and the garden isn't well lit making it inaccessible after sunlight.
The pro is that this has an excellent location, right next door to Full Moon Cafe.
All said and done this is still better than any other property in Havelock that doesn't have a private beach.

Visited havelock island with family for 2 days . Had a good experience with scuba diving and other water activities . For our stay ,we selected Pellicon beach resort which was worth staying with my husband and son who thoroughly enjoyed it. Host was friendly and accommodative throughout the stay . Resort has beautiful and crystal clear private beach(photo attached ).Value for money comparing to other nearby resorts .

The rooms were not that great, no room amenities were provided. We had issues with water and electricity throughout our stay, the owner was a bit creepy. There was only one woman as a staff, so she couldn't provide help to us on time, there was no food available plus the money that they charged us for a stay wasn't worth. I wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their money for this hotel also its not at all like a resort. Don't go with the name or pictures.

The room is fairly spacious and that’s the only only thing that is positive here. The service is the worst I have seen in the world. The so called manager Girish conned us with additional money after showing us something very substandard. Housekeeping is unheard and unseen here. There is one girl doing literally EVERYTHING here. Cleaning, reception work, cooking etc etc night and day. You will not find another soul on this place. This girl Shobha, however made excellent parathas and pooris for breakfast. She is untrained and very rustic. If you bring up any issues with the manager Girish he pretends to look into matters. All he does is booze day and night in the room apart from smoking.
The reason we stay put here was that our money was all paid and couldn’t get bookings elsewhere, closer to dive points.
There is no room for any improvement here because there is very scant regard for guests.
Pls pls never consider this place ever!

The property is extremely value for money - a little more value than money I believe since we took the basic package. We didn't have breakfast here since I had heard of 2 really nice cafes nearby - Full Moon Cafe and Anju Coco. Overall, I would recommend this property to people who are on a budget and want something decent for family.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Pelicon. The owner and the staff Shobha were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious, it offered privacy, easy beach access, and peace of mind. We ended up extending our stay and absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. We highly recommend this place.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but this is not just a simple review but instead a warning for others to be careful if booking this hotel.
We were a group of 11 students on holiday at Havelock island for 3 nights and chose to stay at Pellicon Beach Resort, because it was mentioned in the Lonely Planet.
Upon arriving, the property owner/manager didn’t allowed us to pay by card and forced the group to go to the ATM to withdraw the cash to pay. He then told us if we would pay by card there would be a 12% commission fee. We went to the atm and paid in cash.
The resort is quite small with only 8 rooms, each includes its own bathroom. The problems with the rooms were the following: there were frequent power outages, no daily room service, no toiletries nor toilet paper (unless you asked for it), the WiFi didn’t work in the room and there were no mosquito nets in the room. If we kept our door open for even a minute, the room would be covered with mosquitoes.
With regards to the beach that is close to the resort, it is quite impossible to swim because it’s full of rocks for about 200mt.
The resort has no restaurant, but fortunately there is another resort about 100 mt away that has good cuisine also for breakfast. This is just a description of the resort.
The reason for the warning is the following: the day two of us were ready to check out (all of our bags were packed by 8:00am check out time) we waited for the resort to begin the process. The hotel was late and we decided to go for breakfast, so we left our packed bags in the room. Upon returning at 10:30am and attempting to check out, the property owner mentioned we had to pay for a full day since we were checking out late. We asked for a late check out fee such as a half day charge and the owner mentioned the hotel’s policy was to pay the full amount (around 60€) for the day.
When we asked him to show us the written policy, he refused, raised his voice and threatened us to pay the full amount or else we weren’t leaving the property (We looked for the late check out policy and were unable to find it as there isn’t one). We tried to come to a compromise and negotiate with him but he refused. He said he didn’t want to negotiate and would get his money either way. He proceeded to call a group of 10 men (bodyguards) to the hotel to help him collect the money. Scared, we figured we had no other choice but to pay the amount and stay an extra night, cancelling our booking in Port Blair, which resulted in a loss of 1,800 INR.
Now, I don’t want to imagine what could have happened if we decided not to pay the whole day fee, but I must say I felt threatened and so uncomfortable. We can show you some videoclips of what occurred on this day.
We are currently contacting the Lonely Planet and Booking.com to ensure situations like this won’t happen again.
I recommend everyone to think twice before booking this resort. There are better accommodations on the island with regards to rooms, beach, restaurant, and customer service.
This was definitely not worth the price.

Pros
1. Location (between beach no. 3 and 5) is perfect, very near to the beach....in fact it is as good as Private beach. It is peaceful, so it's not for party people.
2. there is western style toilet and shower.
Cons
1.The main negative is the service provided by the owner Girish. "While friendly enough when you arrive, he quickly loses interest." (see the review given by guests on January 8 and 11, 2012).
2. He varies room rates according to the customer need. Rates are variable depending upon your bargaining power. Normally it is Rs 800-Rs 1000.
3. On arrival he told me " You cannot make noise, foreigners stay here". After travelling for 12 countries backpacking (being environmentally conscious) , this is the first time I have heard something like that. I went their with my wife.
4.On the last night he played the TV on such a loud volume (watching Star TV awards programme ), that we had to request him to lower the volume - height of double standard ! We met a German lady Sabine who also thought it was very loud
5. He asked me to make the payment immediately. then he said/wrote in his sheet of paper you cannot get any refund if u reduce your stay from 3 days to 2 days....when i wrote "ok" in place of "non refundable" with an initial (since anybody can put ok)....he asked rudely "what is this"...then i said it is initial of my signature !!
6. There is signboard at his resort "check out at 8.30 am ....check out at 8.40 am full charge applied" ....this I find extremely rude...I have taken a photograph of the same....
7. There is no restaurant at the time of visit.
8. Inspite of all this negative I have put average because of great location and cleanliness of the resort.
9. The facilities are very basic - no soap or towel etc
10. The mattress quality is not great.
11. wifi rates - 0- 30 minutes Rs 200 ...31-60 mins Rs 300/- !!!!
He forgets this is service industry - you cannot get away with Tripadvisor !

WHen you arrive in Havelock, you can find a lot of resorts more cheap than this. THis is full of Israeli people, all the time with the music (include night hours) and talking without respect. THe boss is very stupid, also his girlfriend. You can find more places... really..
