My wife and I stayed at the Castelletto for 5 nights during the middle of our Italian honeymoon last October (been meaning to write this review for 7 months now!) and we loved every minute. The Castelletto is beautiful, with breathtaking views and charm oozing out of every nook. It really is a blend of ancient and authentic history touched...

We spent 3 days at Castelletto di Montebenichi this week & can't say enough good things about it. The property is exquisitely decorated by the owners. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the rooms are charming. The entire property is tastefully decorated with antiques from various periods & backgrounds. The buffet breakfast was beyond wonderful. The owners were very accommodating...

We stayed here when my husband did the "Chianti Hills Hog Rally' just down the road in Bucine. He was out on his bike, while I relaxed by the beautiful pool, and most of the time I had the entire place to myself. Marco the owner just could not do enough for us....truly the perfect host. Although the hotel does...

My wife and I were looking for a special place to spend time in Tuscany. We were there to visit wineries and sample the restaurants of the region. I think we knew it was going to be a special place when we saw the village perched on top of a foothill. What we found was a charming Tuscan jewel with...

We were looking for a quiet and restful place to stay between Florence and Rome. We'd not been here before, but chose it primarily because of the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. We've stayed in many hotels throughout Italy, but this is the first time a hotel completely and utterly exceeded any of the expectations we ever had (and in this,...

An absolute gem! Marco was the perfect host during our stay - warm and friendly and he had even reserved a table for us at a lovely local restaurant the day we arrived at the Castello. He is very thoughtful. The room was charming and the Castello is old and has a cozy feeling. It is quiet and very relaxing....

Our recent stay at Castelletto di Montebenichi was the fourth time we have visited since 2005 and each time it is simply spectacular. The Castelletto is beautiful and ideally located, with fantastic amenities (pool, fitness center, and gardens). There is a beautiful breakfast room serving an abundant buffet and, on a clear day, a view of Siena. Even though there...

Last month in May, my boyfriend and I visited Montebenichi for dinner at a wonderful restaurant of the place. Our intention was to have a couple of cocktails before dinner and see some rooms at the "Castelletto". We are living in the area, we are Italians and didn't want to stay for the night for sure, but this Hotel was...

Just to add to all the other five star reviews - this place is heaven. It's like being admitted to someone's wonderful private home. The place is restored with exquisite taste. We also dined in San Guzmé and were so impressed we went back two days later. I absolutely loved every minute of it - and photographs just don't do...

Really don't have the words that do justice to our experience at the Castelletto. Just an amazing place, built in the 1100s. The atmosphere is incredible. Very clean. The little village it is in up on a hill is right out of the middle ages. Very nice little restaurant in the village, awesome food and atmosphere. Can't add anything that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Castelletto di Montebenichi, a perfect spot for visiting Tuscany, located in the Chianti, half way between Siena and Arezzo. Staying at the Castelletto is a magic experience offered to a few guests only who will enjoy precious works of art, including period frescoes, archeological finds, sketches and antique paintings, drawings, sculptures, bronzes and ceramics. They will be caught up in a pleasant, unforgettable out-of-this-time atmosphere. In this ancient mansion, dating back to XII century, tradition and modern comfort are combined perfectly. Guests are encouraged to move free like in their own home in a comfortable and familar, yet elegant and exclusive environment. At a few steps in the park guests can enjoy a swimming pool, a small sauna, and a gym with a jacuzzi mini-pool along with a marvellous view over the surrounding hills and the valley. The Castelletto has no restaurant, but around the corner a wonderful "trattoria" called "L'Orciaia" offers tasty traditional Tuscan dishes. ... more   less
