Uruga B&B provides guests with a beautiful and colourful award- winning garden to enjoy. A gazebo in the shade of some large trees, plus another garden setting with an umbrella for warm weather, are both ideal places to read or sip something nice! Inside there are two comfortable Queen bedrooms with en-suites; one of which is wheelchair accessible. A shower chair is available if needed. French doors from the rooms open out onto a long balcony with cane chairs and tables. A large shared dining and lounge area also contains a library, TV, DVDs, magazines and games. On the walls are original paintings and photos, and the décor is a rich array of antiques and treasures collected from around the world. The breakfast menu offers low sugar, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free food and drink, as well as other conventional choices. Much of the food is home-made, very healthy, and made from original recipes. Strathalbyn town centre with its beautiful parks, and High St. with its antique shops and cafes, is only a short drive or walk away.

When size, privacy and design matters in a B&B Uruga has cracked it. We were amazed at the amount of space within our room and beyond, We had our own entrance, large lounge, coffee station and fridge amenities and could wander around what was essentially the equivalent space of a full home just for us. A rare and unexpected amount of space and privacy in a B&B setting topped off with a good win at the Strathalbyn race day. Local pub provided a great night out and meal and Judy's breakfast's set us up for our day's exploring. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We chose Uruga B&B after careful consideration of all the options for our 3 night holiday in Strathalbyn. We wanted a roomy B&B with quality bedding, tailored breakfasts, a large clean bathroom ,hosted service, quiet location - and it has a prize-winning garden. Judy is an excellent host. Her historical home has a well designed, very private extension which looks out to the award winning garden .It's nice to stay in rooms with original artwork. The on-suite bathroom has convenient hooks and a stool for clothes, hand rails for the toilet and shower that has curtains which reach the floor! Judy provides interesting breakfast options . Nice to have free range eggs (bacon if you wish) fresh fruit juice and/or fruit as well as muesli and various types of bread. Judy makes

It was a great pleasure to have such appreciative and friendly guests staying at my B&B! I like to create and make new healthy treats for myself, so I always have something here for breakfast that you won't find anywhere else. So glad to hear that you also loved the garden with its many statues and other quirky bits and pieces. Hope to see you both back soon! Judy

Recently we were lucky to 'find' this beautiful B&B while touring through South Australia. The hostess, Judy, has left nothing wanting for her guests. Our bedroom was comfy and spacious with a roomy ensuite and verandahs looking out to the gardens. The B&B has a large private lounge and dining area beautifully furnished with antique pieces and artworks. Judy offers an extensive breakfast menu and our choices were truly delicious. This B&B is in a quiet area and it was so peaceful to wander through the beautiful gardens. Judy is a well travelled and interesting hostess and has created a delightful relaxing haven for her guests. Strathalbyn is well worth a visit as it is a picturesque town filled with historic buildings and located close to vineyards and not far from

Thank you very much. I am so glad that you "found" me! I remember you saying that you had just been travelling around Kangaroo Island, and that Strathalbyn was a perfect town to stay in on the way back. As you say, it is also in the middle of several wine growing areas, and the township itself has many attractions which can easily be visited on foot. I am very pleased that you enjoyed your breakfasts, and also appreciated the artwork and photos around the B&B. Hope to see you back one day! Judy

Thank you Judy for a wonderful stay. It was so quiet and peaceful and your award winning garden is stunning. There were places to sit, read or just relax and things to look at everywhere. The new purpose built B&B rooms were modern, spacious and immaculate with beautiful polished floors. The furniture and artwork suited the age of the house and showed Judy's creative flair and attention to detail. It was great to spend a few days in the region exploring the Antique shops, Nurseries, Bakeries and of course the Lolly Shop. Loved staying here will be back again in the future.

Many thanks for your review. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed relaxing in the garden, and also appreciated the artworks inside and out amongst the plants and trees. The Lolly shop is always well stocked with all kinds of old fashioned treats, so for anyone with a sweet tooth, it is a must see! Hope you visit again soon. Judy

Judy's attention to detail shines everywhere. Beautiful gardens with quiet areas to sit, read & relax & listen to or watch the birdlife that come to feed. The rooms are spotless & beds as comfortable as my own. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. Judy B&B is in a perfect location for visiting Wineries in the area, local Antique shops & Strathalbyn's Art Gallery in the repurposed old Railway Station. Not far to drive to Mt Barker & Hahndorf with the Barossa Valley a couple of hours north.Beautiful scenic drives to Victor Harbour or across to Willunga & down to Cape Jervis.

Thanks for your great comments. As you have mentioned, Strathalbyn is the perfect place to stay if you have time to explore the Fleurieu Peninsula area, as there are beautiful destinations in every direction. No matter what you like to see or do on holiday, in most cases there will be somewhere close by that will be of interest.. Even Adelaide is only an hours drive away. I hope to see you all back soon!
