A beautiful house tucked in a quiet street of Strathalbyn. Luxurious accommodation and Judy is a very attentive host, ensuring you have all you need. Highly recommend this place to couples looking for a nice get away.
What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the efforts of someone who obviously enjoys what she does! Judy’s attention to detail in her B and B, the gardens and her hospitality made this the highlight of our trip to S. Australia. Do yourselves a favour and take some time out to relax here and at the township of Strathalbyn.
My 2 nights staying at Judy's B and B "Uruga' was the highlight of my first trip away in over 2 years. An amazing and special home and garden with fabulous hospitality. It was so lovely staying with Judy who made us feel incredibly welcome and our trip exploring the area an absolute pleasure.
My partner and I stayed here when we attended a wedding in Strath. Judy was able to accommodate us last minute and was a delightful host. The accommodation was in a seperate wing of the house with its own entrance so it felt very private. The bedroom was very large with a lovely ensuite. The best thing about this accommodation however was the delicious breakfasts served by Judy. They are HUGE and scrumptious. A delightful way to start the day!
Such a lovely, peaceful place to stay and the best we have ever stayed in. We were here for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment. Judy is an exceptional hostess and loves to share information about her lovely house and artworks. The house and decor is a credit to her. The gardens are beautiful and we only wish the weather had been a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the outside areas more. However, inside we enjoyed the warmth from the ducted air conditioning and the lovely hot showers. Both rooms are large with lovely spacious ensuites. Beds are so comfy. Breakfasts are a gourmet delight with Judy’s special creations. Everything we tasted was delicious and showed her exceptional culinary skills. We didn’t want to leave!! Thanks so much Judy we really loved our relaxing stay with you! And thank you too for your delicious scoffies! 😊…
Staying at Uruga was a little bit of heaven for the two of us.. Judy is a delightful hostess who has created a miniature botanic garden for her guests. On top of that the grounds were peaceful and filled with birdsong, down to experiencing a feeding session with the magpies that have been tamed and warble in the nearby trees to remind you that " it's time". As breakfast lovers we enjoyed the first meal of the day immensely...I would recommend it all but especially the layered meusli which was a gastronomic delight. We also enjoyed the accommodation, the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and continue the art and colour theme that captures the visitor's eye from the moment of arrival.. Judy is quite an artist and equally a lover of history...we appreciated the sharing of her family history and the tour through the rest of her delightful home Uruga is more than "the house on the hill". It is a B& B with a story , great ambience and the freedom to be busy or to take respite away from a busy life. ARF and LMF…
An little oasis B&B gem located in Strathalbyn that is quiet with lots of bird life around. The house and gardens have a lovely ambience and it is just a great place to unwind. Judy's gourmet treats are a delight along with her exceptional hospitality. Stayed for 2 nights and found it very relaxing - we'll be back!
This is a wonderful B&B. The host is informative and friendly. The rooms are large with a well appointed en-suite. The common room has lots of seating for relaxing, reading or watching TV. The garden is well maintained with outdoor seating to sit amongst the shrubbery and bird life. In all a fantastic stay, highly recommended.
As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a smile from Judy the owner. The gardens are spectacular with lots of arty sculptures. Inside is a very spacious lounge area with plenty of books and art. The rooms are well appointed with a great onsuite with heating lights. It’s not far from town but far enough away to enjoy its tranquil settings.
Firstly, if you are a vegan, then you will no doubt love this place. Vegan breakfast menu items can be included if you ask. The rooms were spotless and also quite large. But I really liked the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
