At the Transcontinental Hotel we had great country service, and the staff were very friendly. For tea we had Lamb Shanks the meat was so tender it was falling off the bone it was delicious with creamy mash and tasty gravy. We were sat by a huge fireplace, so warm and cosy.

A friend and I recently stayed in the Trans for a weekend of walking the Heysen Trail. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The single rooms were small as expected but clean and tidy. With a forecast overnight temperature of 1 degree an oil heater was thankfully provided upon request. We dined in on the first night and were not...

We had our evening meal at the Transcontinental. The service was good, but the menu was what was served as pub food 20 years ago and in this case had really not changed. Carbohydrate heavy meals are not good for customer health. Why would you serve pasta salad with chips? The highlight of the meal was the coating on the...

We visit family in Quorn often and always prefer to dine at the Transcontinental Hotel for dinner. It has just recently changed owners, they are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The meals have always been excellent. Big serves and value for money. We will continue to dine at the Trans.

Terrible service. Unclean rooms. Noisy. More like a kids play date than a hotel to relax and enjoy a drink. Arrogant staff that make you feel like you're interrupting their conversation about their personal life. Do yourself a favour and go across the road to another hotel!

Having travelled all the way from Coober Pedy alone and simply needing a simple dinner bed and breakfast I was at a loss when the unfriendly Quorn Caravan park reception quoted rates that were very much higher than anywhere else I had stayed in a two week trip from Melbourne, around the Flinders ranges through the outback to Coober Pedy...

Stayed for a beer and lunch. The man behind the bar was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. He was on his own and still friendly with a smile when busy. Had a lovely stay before heading back to port augusta. Nice old pub. Reminded me of my childhood.

Under new management and the service is great and the food is fantastic. If ever in Quorn drop into the Trans best place for a meal. All meals very well priced and plenty on the plate and includes a salad buffet. Nice cold beer on tap too.

“If I had not been on a tight budget I would have asked for a balcony room, although Quorn is underwhelming with not much to look at. The much lauded train runs only once in a while. My room was quiet possibly because it was right at the back.”
