We've done the two days rainforest tour and we had an amazing time with awesome tour guides and really kind staff. The hostel is so great and very familiar. Had an amazing time and would go there again. Greetings Eric

Stay here and check out Yungaburra! We found this by accident when we were driving around inland from the Cairns area, We arrived in Atherton, where nothing much was happening, and someone in a shop advised us to check out Yungaburra, a little town/village we'd never heard of, In Yungaburra we found the On The Wallaby Backpackers Lodge where we...

During my 4 months trip in NZ, Asia, America and Auisse this was my best stay by far! I didn't plan to stay the night but I ended up spending 2 nights. Mountainbike and canoeing with awesome Darius (guide) and his dog Cheif was great even though it was raining big time. Spending the evening with couples of beer, barbecue...

I would definitely recommend this nice little Hostel. It is clean, cheap and there is just a nice ambiance in this well decorated accommodation. The staff is friendly and Tours can be directly booked with the own guide. Of course you can't expect any luxury, the rooms are small, not air conditioned and there is a mosquito net since the...

So fun! This is a must do, I was picked up from my hostel in Cairns by Bart. He was hilarious and really made the tour special. Everyone on the tour introduced themselves and Bart made everyone feel very welcome, the ice was broken quickly and everyone on the bus got on very well! We stopped at the cathedral fig...

So much fun! I highly recommend the 2 day/1 night Tablelands Tour. The first day I got picked up from my hostel in Cairns by Loz- he is very personable and you can tell he loves his work! We stopped at a couple of different waterfalls, the beautiful cathedral fig tree and at a lake for lunch. You have the...

I spent one night at this hostel, and would have spent two if my schedule allowed it! The food is wonderful! I loved the BBQ dinner they offered! The beds are also very comfortable, and the rooms not too hot. I love the location of the hostel. It is not too far from anything! The staff were incredibly helpful and...

On The Wallaby was the last hostel I stayed in during my 2 months travelling in Queensland, and I couldn't have asked for better. I planned to only stay one night, but the amazingly friendly staff, brilliant central location for everything in the Tablelands, and high standard facilities meant I found it hard to leave, so ended up staying 3...

Yungaburra is a lovely little town and great to spot platypus! The On The Wallaby Lodge was a homy little place with very friendly staff. We stayed there with our Jucy Campervan, $20 for 2 people. So if you plan of visiting the Atherton Tablelands and want to see platypus, the Wallaby Lodge is the place to sleep!

I went on the 2 day/1 night trip to the Atherton Tablelands with On the Wallaby and it was definitely the best trip I had in my 2 months in Australia! I was picked up on time, maybe even a little early, by a super enthusiastic driver - Lawrence (even though it's only a temporary job for him). He made...
