Arriving at the silky oaks lodge during a downpour (what do you expect, it's the rain forrest!) we were met with umbrellas and smiles. Our magnificent treetop room opened on to a patio with hammocks, comfy chairs, lit candles, and the sounds of birds. Staff were wonderful, food was good, setting was amazing. We stayed here for 3 nights, but...

Exceptional staff. Wonderful views. We swam in the river, did canoeing and tubing. We even went for a snorkel upstream. Meal was so different but great. Breakfast included and it was amazing. Great selection of meals and local fruits. Not just a night away. You may think it's expensive but worth every penny for the unique accommodation

This was our favorite hotel of our 3 week vacation. It does require either a car or use of a taxi or other private transportation to get to & from the airport or some activities. They have shuttles (for a small charge) to/from Port Douglas. Some day tours will pick you up at the hotel. The location and the lodge...

We visited Silky Oaks Lodge for three nights and had the most relaxing time. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the facilities were spotless- housekeeping was amazing. The location was breathtaking. We honestly felt sad to leave. On arrival we were offered complimentary welcome cocktails and found out breakfast was included in our rates- both happy surprises! We took...

The lodge is supremely relaxing and beautiful with many small touches that make it special. No wifi in the rooms and the lobby is un-air conditioned so pack for tropical weather and enjoy it for what it is. Like living in a treehouse. Not particularly well suited for kids but they have one of the most beautiful pools I have...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in the billabong suite, the room was excellent, view was good. Tea first night was great and breakfast was ok. The property was great the way it was set out. My wife booked a spa massage for us both and the lady she spoke to didn't speak very good English couldn't...

Great spot, accommodation, food ... Worth doing the fig tree walk to the rapids although water is fast flowing and cool .. so be cautious .. treehouse accommodation is great .. worth doing the fine dining (snapper was exceptional) although do offer a bar menu which had tasty pizza's .. have a number of free activities so we did need...

Me and my fiancée recently visited Silky Oaks and we were amazed at this place, it was better than everything we had read beforehand, with luxury starting at the same second you reach the reception to check in. The lodge we got was beautiful, with almost absolut privacy as there is no one looking in from the balcony. Every night...
