We spent 4 nights in this wonderful wilderness retreat. Do not expect iPad and phone connection unless you go to reception. To us it was bliss getting away from the outside world and enjoying our surroundings. Our accommodation was clean, our breakfast basket was more than adequate. The facilities and essentials for cooking were well thought out and plenty of...

We really appreciate all feedback from our guests. The chef will ask all diners how their meal was, and we would like guests not to be shy in responding, so that we can make your dining experience a memorable experience. If we know of any issues at the time we will always try to resolve them immediately. A guest survey...

We stayed four nights in a studio pole house at Rose Gum. All houses are in the forest and beautifully appointed. We are birdwatchers and were delighted with Rose Gums. We saw a cassowary and many forest species of birds. Our studio room was huge with a deck overlooking the forest. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a...

Thank you for the review. Staying 4 nights certainly gives our guests more time to explore the beautiful attractions in the area, and more opportunity to see our unique wildlife such as platypus, tree kangaroos and the cassowary. The quaint villages in the area offer an authentic Australian country experience, as the area does not attract 'mass' tourism.

we had a wonderful stay at Rose Gums retreat. Very private, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wildlife of the Australia rainforest. In just two days we saw cassuary, platypus, snakes and dozen of species of birds. The cabins are very well appointed, the morning coffee from the veranda of the cabin with the sounds of the birds and...

Thank you for the kind review. You were lucky to see so much special wildlife. For the last 8 months we have been regularly seeing not just one but two Cassowaries on the property. The Cassowary is Australia's biggest bird, and it is still a thrill for me to see one, often near reception or on the walking tracks.

This is a wonderful retreat lovingly constructed and developed by the very friendly owners over many years. The gardens and woods are wonderful and the views from the tree houses stunning. You have no feeling of anyone anywhere close to you at all as each self contained tree house feels very remotely positioned. The downside is perhaps that you have...

Thank you Tony for the kind review. From the beginning at the planning stage to build Rose Gums we felt to maximum the 'living in the rainforest' experience we would site the treehouses about 100 metres apart. This guarantees total privacy with uninterrupted views of the World Heritage Wooroonooran National Park, yet does mean extra distance to travel to reception...

What a great place to relax. We used this place as a base and traveled around the Tablelands area. Staff were very friendly and we had complete privacy. Great walks to the waterfall, but make sure you wear long pants on the wlak as we we came back with a few leeches on our legs. (Easy to wipe off). Everything...

Thank you for the kind review Kathy. Leeches can be an annoying feature of the walk near the creek if it has rained. At reception we give out free salt balls, which are effective in getting rid of the leech without having to touch them.

Treetop chalets beautifully and sensitively built within the Tablelands rainforest. Remote and ideal location for spotting a whole variety of wildlife. Staff incredibly knowledgeable about surroundings and wildlife. Beds and living areas all extremely well appointed and comfortable. Ate in restaurant once but a great experience - plentiful and very tasty food!

230 acres of privately owned rainforest with just 9 tree-houses... I couldnt resist booking after I delved more deeply into the owners vision of this unique place . I was not disappointed. Bird watchers paradise, walking tracks which ranged from easy through to moderate. A wealth of information was to be found about the local wildlife/rainforest in the information folders inside...

What a great place and the view from your private treehouse! The silence, but also deafening sound of nature. Birds, butterflies, a cassowary. In one word FANTASTIC. The walks are very nice. The host gives a nature talk in the morning which is a must go to. Colorful birds and little rat like kangaroos. I was also able to see...

We spent 4 nights and went on bird watching excursions from there. Jon and Peta were wonderful hosts. One morning we walked the grounds with Jon and he gave us a map with other places to visit, like the golf course where we rented a gulf cart and visited the huge number of kangaroos laying in the shade. The cabins...
