Travellers' Choice
Set in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, the Daintree Ecolodge combines nature, nurture and culture in a pure rainforest environment. Believed to be over 180 million years old, and the oldest tropical lowland rainforest on Earth, the Daintree Rainforest is a rare and precious botanical treasure. Nestled amongst the foliage, the Daintree Ecolodge showcases 15 eco-friendly bayans (treehouses) immersed in the breathtaking rainforest canopy. Rise to the sound of the birds in the rainforest above, breathe-in the fresh tropical air and discover the lodge's private onsite waterfall on a leisurely stroll through the enchanting rainforest. The Daintree Ecolodge provides the perfect base to explore the treasures of the Daintree region; the only place in the world where two UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites meet (the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef)! The Daintree Ecolodge is located 110 kilometres north of Cairns (90 minutes) and 45 kilometres north of Port Douglas (40 minutes) via sealed roads.

I had been dying to stay in the Daintree and what a treat it was to stay in this beautiful treat of a place. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a wonderful team, where nothing was too much trouble. Our kids were staying in a room not near us, and this was rectified immediately, which was greatly appreciated. The surroundings are sublime, with 2 waterfalls on the property. My daughter and I even took a swim at the base of one which was a lovely experience for us both as we hadn't swum in a natural waterhole before. From the food, to the little thoughtful touches, it was an experience I would highly recommend. One example that I have to share, was when we went down to breakfast, both our rooms were tidied and the beds were made, by the time we made it back up. Very much appreciated and added to the luxury this resort clearly prides itself on. Thank you to all the team at the Daintree Ecolodge! We will be back!

Greeted by very friendly staff. Room was lovely, nice and clean. Comfortable bed, nice shower. The room had a full enclosed balcony which felt like being right in the rainforest. With the doors to the balcony open the sound of the creek was lovely. If you plan on walking on the track up to the waterfall definitely take insect repellent! But a lovely bushwalk and excellent viewing platform at the end. Waterfall is gorgeous. Restaurant staff were very attentive and menu was limited but interesting. The food was wonderful and I tried some flavours I have never had before.

Hi Emmawilltravel, Thank you for your feedback and for the 5-stars! The menu can be limited as all of our food is locally sourced and produced, however, we love that you tried flavors you never had before and overall said the food was wonderful. The waterfall is truly remarkable and the walking track does really provide that bushwalk experience in the midst of the rainforest. Also, a great tip for fellow travelers to bring along some insect repellent! Hope to see you again someday, Rachel.

This stay was an indulgence during our trip and we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We had a bottle of bubbles and a platter of cheese and cold meats which we consumed whilst we indulged in a bath on the deck. The room was great and our degustation dinner was superb given our dietary requirements. The setting is fantastic and we enjoyed a massage and the beautiful rainforest surrounds. Definitely 5 star.

Wow ! what an amazing place to stay in the Daintree. It's been on our bucket list for a few years now, and it didn't disappoint. The accommodation was fantastic, the staff at the Eco Lodge were the best, you couldn't ask for any better service. The food was so good and beautifully presented. We have travelled to many places around the world, and this is at the top of of the list. We will definitely be back.
