Nice stay. 6 log cabins, pool, great balcony. Impressed with the the little extras such as mozzie coils. Pretty much fully loaded kitchen. Good shower which you find hard to get in some flash hotels. It is a bit of a walk to town but what better way to check out the surroundings. Even came with two dogs, who randomly showed...

A bit out of town but quiet, cool and peaceful. Our hosts were lovely and helpful and we used our haven as a base to explore the area. Our room was well fitted out, with a comfortable bed, and a balcony overlooking the garden and the forest. Highly recommended if you're looking for peace and beauty.

The accommodation is actually a spacious self contained split level cabin with plenty of room and a large balcony with a bush view. The bed is comfortable and king size, good size en-suite and shower. Plunge pool, BBQ and plenty of seating its only a 2km drive into town. The owner gave us some good local tips on things to...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Milkwood lodge. The cabin was nice and cozy and very clean. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed in the cabin to cook meals. Town is only a few minutes drive away. The balcony was beautiful and the views of the forest were amazing. Great size pool and pool area to...

We have just enjoyed the most WONDERFUL WEEKEND at Milkwood Lodge! The accommodation was supremely comfortable, cosy and CLEAN! The beautiful log cabin style cottage had a genourously sized beautiful timber and carved post balcony/veranda with the rainforest almost within touching distance. Peace, tranquility, beauty... Where do I start? The only sounds we heard were the gently cajoling calls of...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable with excellent facilities. The lodge is in a beautiful quiet secluded bush setting but very close to Cooktown. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. We extended our stay to relax and enjoy. Karen & Maureen

We enjoyed 5 nights in the rainforest lodge and enjoyed every minute. Hosts John & Viv are thoughtful and caring "like family". The cabins are smallish but well appointed. You definitely need a car as it is a little out of town and has the benefit of being very quiet and serene.

Where do you start a review on Milkwood Lodge, there are so many delightful things to say, John picked us up from the Airport with a smile and a joke and drove us to beautiful Milkwood lodge in its semi rainforest setting every thing was clean and well presented and a more restful place to stay would be hard to...

Delightful setting. Pole house cabins overlooking hillside tropical garden. Quiet and relaxing. Close to Cooktown. Split level cabins a bit testing on old knees. Overall a very pleasant place to stay at a reasonable price.
