The best way to describe this caravan park is Perfect. A small but well laid out park, a lot of sites have their own en-suite, those that don’t have the best amenities I’ve come across, single shower with hand basin, Lots of room and spotless. Along the beach front are a number of tables with bench seats and a covered area. Also has table setup for gutting fish. Washing machine and dryers all looking new and number of areas for hanging out your washing. Swimming pool small but again spotless, had sun loungers around side. No shops onsite nearest 3k in Bowen. A short walk through the park bring you to a number of sandy beaches (horeshore beach has surf life saving). All the staff were outstanding. 9 hole golf course just across the road
With so many caravan parks to choose from in Bowen, we were pleased with our choice. We had a cabin for two people which had everything we could wish for. Just a short walk to the beach and a stroll around the golf course too was perfect as we are birdwatchers. Plus no traffic noise.
We entered the office to a warm welcome and checked in, we previously booked a large site that had views of the Bay, we setup in our Fox Palmed lined Site great. The gardens were well maintained and the sites clean and the gravel raked, the amenities blocks were very clean and tidy, one older and one newer style Each had separate single toilets and Showers with plenty of room and hot water. The bays were set up for easy access, there was No Noise from the side streets or dead end street at the end of the Park just peace and quiet. The laundry and library is next to the nicely decorated office, the pool (closed at present ) is opposite the amenities and washing line. The bbq.s are under the roofed dining section on the waterfront with great water views. there is no camp kitchen. We found the owners very helpful, polite and Friendly, we will return to this beautiful Park again. …
This park sells itself on a lovely location and you pay accordingly. One of the most expensive powered sites we have visited, but probably worth it for the view and tranquility. But cross the staff at your peril. The veneer of friendliness vanishes in an instance. That certainly wasn’t worth the money. You see we had the temerity to move one of the barbie area tables 25 meters to our site as we had four friends visiting us and wanted to sit and enjoy the ambiance of ‘our own space’ With the park virtually empty and several more tables available at the barbie hut we didn’t think it would be an issue. Stop press. It was. There was immediate calamity the following morning, with the caretaker banging on our door at 8am pointing out the seriousness of our crime against humanity. As our friends had left and the table was extremely heavy, I politely informed said caretaker that I would be unable to move it back to the barbie area. Now I will concede that we should have returned the table on completion of our wee party, but there it was. He was very unhappy with my reply and stormed off with the threat that owner would be down to quote ‘get up me’ unquote. Now at this stage my wife suggested that we could probably lift / drag the table back in short steps. The issue would be resolved then. However, the owner then turned up and did ‘get up me’, namely he was very verbally aggressive, apoplectic would be the description, an extremely angry little man. This really was a huge deal to them. The world was clearly coming to an abrupt end. I understood at that juncture, with such an attitude, there was little wonder why the park was virtually empty. Looking back through other reviews it seems that rudeness to customers is a common theme with all these guys. They have no idea how to talk to people diplomatically who have upset the balance of the park in some way. It is simple manners, customer service 101. Anyway, we moved the table back, it wasn’t a big deal to move in the end. But one thing is for sure, we’ll not be back, fantastic views be damned.…
Wow what a gem of a location, right on the beachfront and so relaxing listening to the waves lapping the beach. The ocean view sites are absolute oceanfront. The amenities are spotless and the park is looking wonderful. Decided to have a fish right off the beach at the back of van and missed a nice fish after a nice fight. Watch the turtles and black tip reef shark swimming thru. The wind came up in the afternoon but that gave it a nice cool down. The sites are a bit tight to get in if you have a bigger van they do have a spot(nice) for the bigger ones but check first. We will be back one day to unwind again...thank you
