This park is right on the beach and the end on a no thorough road making it very quiet. All sites are powered with water and there are a range of cabins. Facilities are clean and well maintained. There is a large pool, communal kitchen with reading area (free book swoop) and very large TV.

Sites are closely situated but can accommodate all sizes of van. Certain pets are allowed check suitability of yours at time of booking. We received a midweek special rate saving $70 odd but ask for discounts at time of booking.

The beach is accessible but stoney and would be difficult for very young children in front of the camp ground but access to a more walkabke area is via a locked gate - you get a key - at one end of the park.

We selected beachfront site the most expensive option because we thought the view would be nice and it is, but an onshore breeze begins around 2pm which as the day progressed become very cool and caused us to retract the awning.

Overall a great place to stay because it's quiet, security is good, chain across drive means no non guests driving through, good facilities for singles couples and families and certain pets allowed.

We stayed on a beachfront slab site, had amazing uninterrupted water views.
The park itself & amenities are impeccably clean.
Beautiful pool also.

We booked 4 nights here & unfortunately due to the rainy weather & it being stinger season, we all became extremely bored. Apart from the beautiful beaches, Bowen doesn’t have a lot else to offer.
Next time we’ll stay at Airlie Beach & drive around for the day to swim in the beach & bays.

Absolutely lovely stay! We were lucky enough to score a beachfront powered site for three nights. Concrete pad, shade by palms, water and power easily accessible on each site. Sites were average size but lots of room to sit and relax on the grass in front of the sites overlooking the ocean. Front gate / entrance is only accessible with a fob key and gate through to Hansen park is locked constantly (each site gets a set of keys) so we felt very secure and safe. Amenities block is very clean, spacious and thoughtful. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed here for one night on our way through Bowen.
Stunning views from the park over the ocean.
Bathroom facilities were average, signs indicating the need to mop after using the shower. For the $59 a night for a tent site they need to look into spending money on the bathrooms to improve cleanliness and functionality.
Camp kitchen was tidy and has a TV and everything else you need.
Ok for kids, the pool isn’t heated and there is a small games room however other than that the park itself doesn’t provide much more for the kids without taking them down to the beach or the park next door.
Super friendly staff.

Thanks for your feedback. We are conducting 1 major clean and numerous wipe overs of amenities in line with our Covid 19 obligations. The Park isn't huge and we try and cater for all of our kids with activities and our games room however we're under restrictions for these offerings at the moment. Thanks again for your comments - Safe Travels

Booked beachside site 12 weeks in advance for 4 night stay and advised we had a tent. Arrived 24/11/20 at 5.30pm and was advised that we were not permitted to put tent in that site. No other suitable sites, and due to late hour took a cabin for the night which cost us the same price as the 4 nights tent site. Spoke to new manager who did not offer a solution but stated that NRMA policy was not to have tents in that location. Couldn't find anything in their policies regarding tent locations. Spent the last 5 weeks travelling, including on Cape York without wind issues with our Oztent. Now have to book elsewhere for the next 3 nights. We have been camping with the big van parks and not experienced this before. I do not recommend NRMA Bowen if you have a tent.

Dear rossmE3030PJ Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback in relation to your recent stay, we are disappointed that we were not able to accommodate your full booking. We will review our website online booking pages and address if required. Unfortunately, due to the high wind conditions we have here in Bowen and for the safety for our guest we feel that this area would not be comfortable for a tent set up. We do have plenty of other sites available within our park that would be more suited. Once again, we regret that we have not been able to meet your expectation in find another site suitable for your stay, and thank you again for your feedback. Team Bowen!

We booked a 2 bedroom cabin for 3 nights at the NRMA Bowen Beachfront holiday park due to the great reviews. It is a good location and the cabin is quite nice however the road the two bedroom cabins are on is ridiculously loud. It’s right on a corner so you get all the cars accelerating. We have a 15 month old daughter who needs day naps and during the day it was impossible for her to sleep and at night multiple wake ups due to very noisy cars.

Reading reviews there’s no mention of the road noise so just wanting to make people aware before booking.

The park is clean and check in was efficient .
We booked a 2 room family cabin for 2 nights...big mistake.
The cabins are clean, well maintained and presented, the big problem is the location of the cabins in the park.
These cabins are in the back row of the park, the fence is less than a meter away from the cabins and it is next to a busy road.
First night a big Truck parked on the road outside bedroom 2; at 5:30am woken up by truck starting up and idling for more than 5 minutes.
Second night - woken by busy road noise at 6am.
Late at night you have the cars hoons driving up and down; so there are nor early nights.
You also have no screen across the front of the veranda, so every man and is dog doing their laundry stands looking into your cabin unless you close the blinds.
Privacy is a really issue .
Reception weren't really interested in the noise problem and I cant foresee and expense being invested in sound proofing or privacy blinds.
Very disappointed.

We chose to stay in a two-bedroom family cabin, which we found very comfortable for our overnight stay. There is a short pathway in front of the beachfront cabins, but no access to the beach. On check-in you are given a gate key where you can access entry into the park area next door, and also beach access. The beach had a lot of black sand and lots of shrubs and didn't appeal to us. The park is not too far from the small shopping centre where there is a Woolworths supermarket.

We booked just a 1 night stay in a beachfront cabin. Very thankful they let us check in early so we could put our toddler down for a sleep. Cabin is small but still has everything you need & really is a beachfront view. I thought you would be able to walk along the beach in front of the cabins but it's actually a retaining wall with the ocean right there. You can still access the beach a little walk away. It was Halloween weekend & they hosted a very cute trick or treat for the kids which was a really nice touch. The pool is lovely & big. We were told about the free BBQ breakfast which we had intended on utilizing, but the line got too long & when you have hungry kids -well we had to cook our own in the end. Just a suggestion-maybe start prepping & cooking food before inviting everyone down, that way the line moves a lot quicker instead of having a huge line waiting for it to cook in bits. We would stay again.

We stayed in a campsite with our camper in Jan 2020. We found the sites were extremely small and we were glad it wasn’t fully booked so we could use some space on the site beside us. We had a lovely time. There’s a pool for the kids and an air conditioned play room. There’s fishing on the beachfront but due to the steep drop, I wouldn’t let me little one there. Facilities were clean. Camp kitchen had everything you would need. We found it nice and quiet overnight.
