Location was for us perfect. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Sadly too many stairs with luggage it was a pain. But once there OK. Breakfast good. But needs better coffee offer and more choice of fruit juices. Also parking while OK is not private . but other than that it was better than OK. It served...

Having never been here before, thought we would try! A large group of us on a Sunday evening, but although we had booked, the place was empty!! Usually, not a good sign. However, after seating, drinks arrived promptly and ordered food. Since it was a Sunday, most of us opted for the carvery. The carvery was only let down by...

Acceptable as a bed for the night to break a journey - just! Everywhere looks tired and dated - climbing the dingy stairs led to a dark and dingy landing. No lights on until we found a switch on the wall! But the room was clean and bathroom useable.

Approaching the Hotel it looked good on the outside. Entering reception which is also the entrance for the restaurant the atmosphere changed. It seemed dark and dingy. The carpets and furniture coverings had seen better days and there was a lot of dark wood. The man on reception was excellent and was expecting us. He gave us a bigger room...

Pleasantly surprised the rooms were decorated well we stayed in room 14 and had everything you needed including a fan which was a must for one of the hottest nights of the year. The bathroom could have done with some work but was clean and usable. I did notice that there was a fair bit of maintenance work going on...

There is very little choice of accommodation in Baldock so here it was unfortunately. Good points - Staff nice and helpful, decent bar. Bad Points - The place is DIRTY!, everything needs cleaning, curtains hanging off walls, patched up ceilings, rusty fittings, dirty & mouldy showers, dirty cups. Sorry but this one is not even at any acceptable level. I...

We had a 90th birthday celebration here and the place did us proud. The food was great and the 25 guests all enjoyed the carvery. We had a good range of puds to choose from too. It all was reasonably priced. Although the service was good, it did take a long time coming. Very long gaps until the mains and...

Pleasantly surprised by the size of the accommodation we got for a family of 3, it was a little one bedroomed flat at the back of the main building. A little musty when going up the stairs but the rest of the accommodation was aired. It was a bit dated and there were things that could have been smartened up...
