Comfortable, clean and very good breakfast. We ate out and wished we hadn't as Philip is so obviously into catering. Wheatfree toast was provided on request, a first in my experience. A convenient place to visit Eastbourne without the noise and lack of parking. We visited Michelham Priory close by which was delightful.

Inspite of being a small hotel, the food here is exceptional, up to and beyond that of a very much larger establishment. The rooms are clean and the shower rooms are clean and well cared for (The ones we saw), Nicky and Phillip are friendly and welcoming, which having dealt with the public all my working life , is not...

Clean enough, comfortable enough, accommodating... but a pub, with a restaurant, and no breakfast? How's that work? Oh, very nice evening meal. Arrived very late and they kept the kitchen open for me, so full marks there, but overall a little odd. When I booked they actually seemed slightly surprised that I'd wanted to stay there. Has to be said...

Great, comfortable accommodation with lovely bar area and restaurant. Dinner was superb as were the breakfasts. Nicky and Philip are great hosts and loved the extra touches they provide such as canapés before dinner whilst having a pre dinner drink in the bar. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

My partner and I decided on a last min short break over the easter weekend, we looked everywhere for a dog friendly place and came across The Olde Forge. I spoke to Phillip the owner who was nothing but helpful and pleasant and booked us in. Both Nicky and Phil were such lovely hosts, the food was amazing with a...

The Old Forge is a real gem of a hotel and restaurant. I stay there 4-5 times a year when I am visiting the area and I have never been disappointed in anything. The lovely quaintness of the place is everywhere - the bar, restaurant and bedrooms. The hosts, Nicki and Philip, are excellent; nothing is too much trouble for...

Our stay at the Olde Forge was quite unexpected (due to making a booking error at another hotel), but we were quite pleasantly surprised. Philip and Nicki are perfect hosts and turned our mistake into a pleasure. The place has character, and not character in the way you say when you're trying to say it's bad, but real character. Bathrooms...

We had a wonderful evening here celebrating a Diamond Wedding Anniversary, we did not stay at the hotel we just used the restaurant. There were 18 of us which was just right to fit round the large table, The hosts Nicky and Philip were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They helped with the organising and decorating for...

I stayed here for two nights with my two teenage daughters. I had booked two rooms, but on arrival we were asked if we would like another room, so the girls would have a room each, at no extra cost! Phil and Nicki were great hosts, with a great sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble. Our food on...

Stayed for a weekend to attend a party for my Grandmothers' 100th Birthday. Phil and Nicki were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble, the food was very good. The party was catered for very well, again the food was very good, and plenty for everyone. The rooms were comfortable and clean, just what we needed for a celebration weekend.
