Had a couple of nights here, stayed in the largest room - room 9 in the roof of the building. We are both tall so had a couple of head bumps which were inevitable! Comfy big bed, look up and what a fantastic light! Loved the beams and dual aspect. Great double size shower and a deep roll top bath.... More

Every single member of the staff without exception was friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Fresh milk in a thermos in our room plus top quality tea and coffee and home-made flapjacks added a real touch of quality. Mattress and pillows excellent. Bathroom modern and efficient, great shower. The Inn is decorated in 'OKA' type furnishing throughout. Great... More

Recently went here for tea and paid £15.95 for the smallest tart with nothing with it, after adding fries, one meal came to about £19!! Left feeling hungrier than when I arrived!! Service was also slow, however staff good with children.

I'm sorry to hear your visit failed to live up to expectations Clemmy. I pride myself on the high standard of food and service my hotels provide and on the few occasions I learn that we have not lived up to them it saddens me. I'm glad that my staff looked after your children at least. I hope you experience... More

Had a one night stay in October. Room was very spacious and clean. Our evening meal and breakfast was excellent. All staff very helpful and pleasant. I have already booked a short break in December. Would recommend.

Good quality food, friendly staff a bit pricey but worth it. Wines very pricey. But would certainly visit again. Better than Orange Tree . The quality of food was excellent though chowder lacked a bit of seasoning. Lovely little dining rooms like having your own private room

The ship hotel was a lovely homely but modern hotel. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! The only downside was the busy road, our room was right onto the road and as we stayed mid week come 7am the road was busy with passing traffic including lorries. Overall beautiful stay just not as restful as we... More

Thanks for posting such a positive review Jessica. Sorry if you were disturbed by the traffic noise in the morning. The amount of heavy traffic using rural roads these days is ridiculous. We've done our best to deaden the noise coming from the road in the front-facing rooms but there's only so much we can do due to our location. More

We were met by a friendly member of staff and led to a very attractive room. Dinner was delicious. Staff in the bar and restaurant were friendly and very helpful. The bed was huge and really comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was good, our bug bear in many hotels.

This is a gastro pub and the food is good, but not outstanding. Prices are really very high for the quality on offer, but don't let that put you off, as the food is worth a visit. It's just a pity that the prices aren't more realistic, so that locals can come too.
