Top quality pub grub with a significant home-made element served by friendly professional staff. Dog friendly. Decent beer. Nice place, highly recommended. £120 for four - starters and mains with a couple of drinks and a coffee each. Good value.

Been here many times and never had a bad experience. In the summer, there is the terrace and the sheltered garden area, In the colder months, there is the main bar with the big open fire. Food is always first rate, and although appearing to be a very well to do place, they are dog friendly and have always accomodated... More

One of the most beautiful and tranquil hotel in the stunning county called Derbyshire .! Amazing view employs very helpful staff that are very happy to help you and it's based just outside of a lovely little village called Hathersage . Could not fault this place at all and for how well priced it is

I am sure you have to reserve your table if you wish to visit The Plough for Sunday lunch, which illustrates this is a splendid place to go. Whilst we stood at the bar enjoying a pre-lunch drink several people came in to try for lunch only to be disappointed. Portions are generous and the food traditionally English. The staff... More

Food was very good quality with good range of choices even from set Sunday lunch Meat cooked to individual order and good sized portions Bread and butter pudding was fabulous Only slight criticism was after ordering drinks and stating that we would like to take menus to our table we needed to ask to be shown to the table

Hubby and I went for my birthday- didn't have to book as it was mid week. Friendly greeting and a wide variety of deliciousness to choose from. I had the crushed potato with rocket, olives and goats cheese to start, followed by vegetarian tagliatelle with marinated cherry tomatoes. Dessert was amazing! We shared sticky toffee pud with salted caramel sauce... More

Booked a one nights stay which included a confirmed dinner reservation in their restaurant. Room was a good size with bathroom and tolet and the rom was well stocked with tea coffee and shower gel etc. Room had a road view but no road noise problems but we kept the windows shut. Breakfast was traditional English and filling. Dinner in... More

We met up here with good friends from Nottingham, us from Sheffield. Everything was in place. It was a beautiful day, the Derbyshire countryside could not have been bettered. Neither couple had been to The Plough before but its reputation was first class. And so it was. It was so difficult to choose from such a wonderful menu but we... More
